Called me this afternoon claiming to be from a company from P.M.A. wanting me to confirm full name age and date of birth I  refused until she told me what they wanted  she said they couldn't divulge as it was a phone call of a personal nature so they had to confirm my personal details I refused saying I wouldn't divulge these details  because of identity theft for fraud unless she revealed exactly what company P.M.A was she said thats your choice and hung up  take it from  posts it's Mackenzie....bit sneaky of them now hiding behind a company supposedly called P.R.A.

If its not a council tax debt they cant do anything other than bug you by letter or phone. Unless you welcome them in when they call they have very few rights, contrary to what they might say.

Even if it is a council tax debt unless you have obvious significant assets they will threaten but never actually action removal of goods.

Next time they call ask who they are then state "im recording this call and am telling you now I do not wish to be contacted by phone again"

By law they have to accept this. This is one of the reasons they have started using automated call systems.

Remember these guys lie all the time. I suffered this on a 5k council debt. They threatened me with prison. I just let them go all the way till they ran out of threats then they sent it back to the debtor. Total liers. (Was a different company but it all applies.

F--k off bob you [***],lots of people get into difficulty especially during a credit crunch because they give credit to desperate people who cant pay back, so it the companies fault.

I don't think the folk above have any connection to the debt-collecting agency on the co.uk.
A cynical soul might even wonder if they are cybersquatting the dot.com after Mackenzie Hall managed to cheese off one of their directors.

Promised not to bother me again - so far, in the last six weeks they have continued to ring, from 30 different numbers and on each occasion left a message (which is not for me). I recorded the calls when I explained that I was not the person they wanted - my solicitor has suggested that I put up with this for as long as possible because I should be compensated for persistent harassment. It is starting to wear me down though.

Just ignore all calls, letters, threats, txts etc. There is nothing they can do except take you to court which they won't do because they have paid for the debt and want their money back plus alot more for collecting it. There are some people who take on irresponsible debt, but the vast majority are deent working people who just dont earn enough to cover even essential bills, and their punishment for this is too be harrassed by these vile people, some debt collecting companies are decent and do operate within the law and try and help where they can. Noone is saying that people don't have a right to expect payment of a legitimate debt but this company are just complete bullies, and probably have a less than successful collection rate because of it. People who owe money are not scum in the main neither is it a criminal offence. The best one can hope for is that the people who work for this company get made redundant by them, cant pay their bills because of it, then get harrassed by them, then they'll know!!!!

These scumbags are searching eBay, & DWP database which is how they are getting folks phone numbers. It's common practice even town halls do it tracing council tax debtors. Flagrant abuse. The easiest way to get rid of them is change your number or if you can afford it keep one number for NHS town hall DWP tax lot etc and a separate friends and family no. Keep a log of all calls texts emails and pass over to OFT and FCA with complaint. I was receiving calls at 6.40am from these scumbags so I expect the [***] working there are on commission.

Debt collectors and bailiffs cannot enter your property without a valid court order

This number called my home and there was nobody on the end of the phone - dropped calls like this should be recorded and written down with the date and time and passed on to the OFT / FCA

These idiots tried to ring me on Christmas Eve!! The staff who work for this company are low paid monkeys who have no career options other than sit with a headset on while a computer auto dials people. Waste of a human life. Funny thing is I have a mobile call blocker on my phone which stops them so my phone never actually rings. There are lots of call blockers you can download or see if your phone has an option built in. Windows Phone for example has this feature. Simply add their number and the idiots don't even know haha. Set it to voicemail and it actually costs them money. Waste of human beings.

Don't answer the phone they won't be able to take anything without a court order and the police if it an unsecured debt there is nothing they can do IGNORE them

So your suggesting people in debt are dishonest , many people in debt are so not by their own choice but due to circumstances out of their control. This country dont need  the high and mighty like yourself putting them down or D/C  giving them a hard time you cant pay a debt with money you dont have
