Just had two calls so far today from this number and spoke with both people. I let them talk for a minute then advised them that they were calling a murder scene. The woman got off the phone quite quick, the bloke I spoke to wasnt so quick and stayed on the line for over 10 minutes, it did amuse my 16 year old son! I eventually got out of him that they are something to do with www.iva.co.uk and claim to be from leicester, so will do some research and find there company in the uk and make nuisance calls to them.

    Had calls (1st) 27 October 2009 and (2nd) 28 October 2010 both in the evening about 7pm.

The 1st was an Asian lady asking to speak to Mr Parsons.  Informed not at this address.  Asked if I was home owner and began to talk about debt and I stopped the call and ask for no further calls.

The 2nd was an Asian man asking to speak to Mr Parsons.  Informed not at this address and told him I was not interested in debt advice and of previous evening call, he put the phone down.

Their number displayed 01612412080.  Rang back to them no response

Have been having calls from this number, debt managemant, I have tried everything, including threatening them with the police. They haver been calling up to 6 times a day for about 2 months. I have registered with the telephone preference service, still they call. I have been to offcom, now I have been to talktalk, they have blocked the number, it will take anything from 2 hours up to 48 hours.
I will see how many more I will get from them in the mean time, and follow advice, to just answer the phone and leave it on the table to put their phone bill up.

If I had debt I wouldn't say so much, but wouldn't use them anyway

    From another site:

Unwanted calls are a simple part of having a phone. After all, there are lots of different kinds of unwanted calls, and many are simply unavoidable. But that doesn't mean that all unwanted calls are something you have to put up with. Many kinds of unwanted calls are truly annoying, such as telemarketers and prank callers. Luckily, if there's a phone number that's been the source of several unwanted calls for you, there's something you can do to report that number and hopefully make those calls stop. One great way to start fighting back is to use a caller complaint site.

Caller complaint sites are websites that let users post information about phone numbers that have been harassing them in various ways. When you log on to a caller complaint site, the first thing you'll notice is that you can search for problem numbers and read other complaints and hints that other users have posted. This means that you may be able to find out enough about your unwanted calls without going any further simply by using some of the information you learn from other people's complaints and comments.

Of course, with a caller complaint site, you can also post your own call complaints. This means that you can weigh in on the phone number that's been bothering you. Odds are that, if you've been bothered by a phone number, then someone else has, too. And by banding together through a caller complaint site, you can start using the power of numbers to start affecting real change. This way, you may soon be able to get unwanted calls to stop.

So if you'd like to complain about a phone number, now you know just how to do that. Not only will you be able to vent your frustrations, but you'll be able to use the power of community to help you fight your battles against unwanted calls.

Dwayne is an old consumer advocate who has way too much time on his hands (the wife says) so he rants to his audience on EzineArticles. He has special interests in the area of caller complaints.

These people are a pain in the backside. First hey kept asking for my daughter who has not lived here for over 3 years. After that they asked for my husband and after he told them where to go they have now started asking for me. Cannot wait for them to speak to my son.

Previously we had the number 0301 doing the same thing and asking for the my daughter. Are these numbers/people connected?

Got a call from this number two days ago and the line was silent.I dialed 1471.
Yesterday the same number called back and my girlfriend answered, an Asian speaking guy asked her if we were in debt?she told them we are not interested ,he was very pushy so she said that that I deal with the finances and I was out.
We think the same guy called back tonight at 18:30.
I asked where he got our number? and he said from some financial database?
He knows my name, post code and the fact we have a mortgage I hope its not a scam?

Working in Telecoms, answering Mrs LLoyds comments on 28th Oct.  Talking to my tecky chaps, they advise that by law, a CLI (the number you see on your phone), if its 0161, then the system dialling out MUST in Manchester - this is the law.  However, it is possible for people to be sat anywhere in the country, using software which goes through a switch sat in Mcr to send out the 0161 number.  THere probably arent people even sat in Mcr, its just some equip in a room, being used by people all over.

My son has just received two calls from this number.  They started off asking for my husband and then asked my son how much debt we had as a household!  They were very persistent and rude.

This company called me at work this morning..... long silence but I held on while I took down their number and then when I finally said "it would be nice if someone at least spoke to me" he spoke.  Again he had a heavy Indian accent and started spouting on about outstanding debts.  I told him that I don't have any, so he went away.  Then a couple of hours ago another call... this time an Indian woman.  I told her that I don't have any debts before she even started and asked for her remove my name from her list.... we'll see.  I did try to call them back but got the "this number is not available" message too.

This mob keeps ringing and we never answer, just wait for the answerphone to kick in.  Surprise no message from a call centre.  this morning I answered an d an Indian gentleman asked for me by name.  I said 'he' wasn't at home.  He then asked for my wife, I said she wasn't at home.  He then asked who I was.  I replied that I was a burglar robbing the house and hung up.  Well you've got to wind them up as well.
