Call from indian woman claiming to be from debt advice bureau, asking for someone unknown at this number. rung off as soon as i asked to be removed from their data base and informed them that i was registered with the tps

Call from Indian guy wanting to talk to previous homeowner who has not lived here for nearly 3 years. Explained 3 times then called him a d***head and said I would report him to TPS. Put the phone down, then he called back immediately, twice i picked the phone up and put it down straight away. I think he's got the message now!!

Have have numerous calls from these jokers (with their various names), many times I have told them they are breaking the law in calling me and to take me off their database; clearly they never do.

On one occaision I have just left the phone off the hook but they got bored quickly, yesterday I told them I was sick of them breaking the law and if they called me again I would take them to court (but ready this realise I can't).

I don't care that they are doing their job in India, if their colleagues took me off their database, they wouldn't call me (and I am clearly not going to use their services).

Next time I am going to play wind up and get some fun, I am going to sound all interested and see how far I can take it (they probably won't call again now!)

Rang this afternoon - Indian guy with very broken English. Wanted to speak to a Gary Linegar (?) on this number. Would not give me the name of the company when asked. Just then rang off - did 1471 and this number came up.

i am recieving regular calls from this number and the 0301 as well. i keep asking them to take my number off but to no avail. ive now brought a new house phone with screening on so i can ignore these numbers. this has been going on for about 4 months now and should be classed as harrassment.how do they get away with it?

I had a guy from india calling and i wound him up by saying hang on and took the phone into the toilet and he hear me having a crap hopefully that has done the trick

i keep getting the same phone calls from an indian man never says who he is or why he keeps calling,he always asks for the same person,every time i tell him they dont live here you got the wrong number he doesnt listen and rings again and again.i told them to take my number off there record but dont seemed to of.its getting on my nerves and making me angry.

Have had a call from them tonight, wife answered, told the indian guy she was going out and then hung up on him.  Will wait for next call and will go through the full process being Gordon Brown from 10 Downing Street.  See how well that goes down :D

I'm ex-directory and registered with TPS. I've also previously had calls from Debt Advice Bureau with a caller ID as 0301. I thought they'd given up on me as I've not had any calls from them for about 3 weeks....

Today I get home from work to see I'd had 2 missed calls from 0161 2412080. Within 10 minutes of putting the kettle on, they rang back. An Indian guy asked for me (and managed to pronounce my surname correctly which is a miracle within itself!). Upon asking who was calling the chap said he was calling from a company called Azure and that he wasn't trying to sell anything and weren't a marketing company (yeah, right!). Asked if I was aware there was a goverment initiative regarding the misselling of PPIs. I told him yes and he started his blurb. It took 5 times of me saying 'excuse me' for him to stop. I told him I had no credit cards or loans. He asked 'What about your mortgage?' and I told him that wasn't relevant as I hadn't got one. He asked if I was sure I didn't have a mortgage. Yes, I have no mortgage because I rent! He then went on about Store Cards and I politely advised him I have nothing on credit and never will and he said 'madam I believe you are a bloody liar. Everyone has something on credit'. I ended up putting the phone down on them.

Something has got to be done to stop these calls. Maybe we should get Anne Robinson and Watchdog onto them!!

Yet another call from an Indian sounding guy from the Debt Advice Bureau...just wont take no for an answer...2 - 3 calls some days.Told him we have no debt..go away..makes no difference they still call again.
We are with T.P.S doesn't seem to make a difference.How can we all put a stop to this?

Just had them on the phone.  What a joke.  First time, answer phone to Indian/Pakistani guy who asks name etc, then starts his spiel about being from Debt Advisory Bureau which was a government agency, and did I know about a scheme which would allow me to be debt free in 3 years blah blah blah.  Told him I was reg'd with TPS etc and that they had to remove me from there database etc.  I'll give him his due he kept persevering while I was talking, so I thought I would see how long I could keep him on the phone for (record is 28 minutes with a cold caller from a mobile company).  So I let him go on for about 5 minutes, then I casually mentioned that as I was in Scotland I couldn't have an IVA, it would have to be a Trust Deed, or I could apply for sequestration and have all my debts written off and be debt free within one year.  Do you know what he paused for about 1 second, then started his stuff all over from the beginning again, so I just talked over him saying things like "Thats it pal keep talking it's your bill this call is going on", "You're a [***] aren't you", etc etc and he just kept talking.  I actually thought he hung up on me, but bless his little cotton socks he called me back 2 minutes later saying he got cut off, problem at their end or something, then it all started from the beginning again. He eventually hung up on me about 15 minutes later, so all in all about 20 mins for both calls, not bad but way short of my best.  So little complaint off to relevant bodies.

Keep getting the same calls like everyone else and just spoke to Virgin Media Nuisance Calls department. As the caller is not witholding their number, I was told that Virgin media can't do anything to help as the company are obviously not registered to work within the limits of TPS. I didn't realise that companies could opt out of TPS & assumed that all UK companies had to respect TPS requirements. Next step is the police - but have these individuals actually broken the law? We too are ex directory & TPS registered.

This number has called three times today,Wednesday 7th October 2009,and there has'nt been anyone answering on the other end. What is going on ?

Just had 6 calls in a row from this number! The man had an indian accent and was very rude, he has woken up my 5 month old baby who is teething, i'm absolutely furious!! Spoke to my telephone provider and aparently nothing can be done about it! What a crappy day and age we live in, where a new mother cannot be left in peace to look after her baby.

I get calls from this number most days asking sometimes for Mr Chick and sometimes for Mrs Chick. I have told them numerous times that these persons do not live at my address and I do not think they have ever lived at my address. I do not know any persons by the names of Mr and Mrs Chick. I have asked them to take my number off their database and asked them to stop calling but they continue. I wish they would stop calling.
