silent call wish they had answered as would love to have told them to p off getting sick of muppets calling that can hardly be understood and usually trying something.............supposed to be ex directory

Thanks for the info about this - got a call yesterday and no answer so hung up,. they called today and when they asked for me, thinking it was a sales call i asked to take a message.  Then he asked if i was a relative and when i said no he said 'forget about it then!' and hung up!  The guy was indian which explains all these other comments - i shall be ignoring in future

Same as all of these.  Some Indian people over four days asking for a woman who doesn't live here and I told them I am not her and I have lived here for four years.  THEN, they say they need to talk to the occupant.  As a person who has no time for cold callers and canvassers at all, I tell them, I do not know you, I am NOT the person you are asking for, and I have NO debts. Go away.  Last one was a few minutes ago, and I told her, I am going to ring the police or get your number banned if you do not stop ringing, and hung up on her. I am going to report them to all the people you have all advised me to report them to, and next time they ring I am going to say hold the line please I have to answer the door and I will let them run up a phone bill while I ignore the phone completely.  lol.

After contacting the various people to complain to and being put on hold forever, I gave up and rang VirginMedia.  They informed me they cannot ban numbers or take any action and advised me to go here - http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ to register with them.  They are the Telephone Preference Service.  I completed a complaint as I was already registered with them.  As I type this, I have an Indian lady on the telephone, being brilliantly kept on hold and ignored by me. It has now been 15 minutes. :P

This number keeps calling but when you try and call it back it says number not recognised.

I missed the call then tried to ring back.

Rang several times today. No messages left on answering machine. Am with TPS and Ex directory so how do I still get S**T like this???????

These people crystal debt advisory keep calling me day after day and it is annoying... they refuse to give any details of the company so can express your concerns to somebody.. they refuse to take details off their database. I have contacted ofcom and informed them via filling out some details. www.ofcom.org.uk/complain

I had a silent call from this number.  It's typical of a number of telephone systems where they dial lots of numbers at the same time and they speak to the first person who answers the call.  Anyone else that answers just hears silence.

Am receiving constant calls from companies re Debt.  I am with also with TPS.  

My suggestion is when you actually hear a voice and they tell you they are from a company dealing with Debt, do not hang up, just say 'one moment' and leave the phone on the side.  Go back 5 mins later to see if they're gone and if so hang up.

I think everyone should complain to there phone company  
If enough people complain they might do something about it

Recieved numerous calls from this number. They refuse to tell the person answering the call who they are and will not leave a message. Heavy Indian (or similar) accented male. Background noises clearly indicate a call centre environment. WPS registered and even though we have told them this the calls persist. We are not in any form of Debt and even if we were would not seek help from cold callers!
As a nightshift worker my adult daughter answers while I am sleeping during the day.

i just rang the number back and it rang, but i put it down before any1 could answer incase it was some money scam thing! but it did ring back!

He called 5 mins ago, I told him to type his number 01612412080 into Google to get this forum and to see how many thousands of people he has been bothering.

Its the first time he has called for weeks and I have been looking forward to hearing him again so I can tell him about this site.  Can you imagine has utterly stupid he must feel??

I imagine the callers are finding all of us utterly stuipd, as none of us can find out who they are, or put a stop to their annoying calls. They know who we are, including name, address and phone number - I asked for my details to check them, I told them the details they held were incorrect, but they were really spot on.

Is there anyone out there smart enough to identify the mystery callers?

A plea - please only add further comments that help identify the call centre, or help end these calls, and do report these calls to TPS and ICO.

Liontel use various names including Debt Advice Bureau, Crystal Debt Advice and the latest one is Galaxy Debt advice. They use various phone numbers, the latest one to call me is 0844 8466524.

The bottom line is that all these annoying Indian 'Debt Advice' calls are from CAPITAL FINANCE.

It doesnt matter if your ex directory or TPS registered. They are lead providers so they will buy batch informations from demographic databases of mass details and feed that into a dialer to call until a result is achieved from the data as each piece costs them money so by you saying not interested it doesnt matter because as soon as they get someone interested online then a company will sometimes pay £100 for that lead as it is classed as a interested potential client. if your in debt then let them pass you through to a legitimate company they are just telemarketers. the people dealing with your debt have to follow DRF (debt resolution forum) and OFT guidelines.

I've had these people ring me several times, the latest being another indian man today, I hadnt heard from them for a couple of months and now it's starting again.  Getting really annoyed now as I say everytime to them that I'm not Interested and that I have no debts but they talk over me as if they don't want to hear the word no.  When I said I had no debts he started asking me about store cards and credit and again I told him no I haven't got any.  I even went as far as to say that I can't have any debts as I'm a multi millionaire and even then he still tried to get me to listen to his crap!! Is there nothing I can do to stop these calls.

The number has rang me 3 times today already, once at 11.20, then 12.01 and finally at 14.07. I never pick up and there is no message. It is annoying. they use my work mobile number.
