I went to one interview for Outsource Ten and you smell a rat straight away. The office looked like somewehere they would film an adult movie! Bare, dirty wIth a couple of chairs a desk and a settee.
- anonymousHa... I just had a call from a job I applied for which is a canvasser (I did know what that meant and researched it after I applied) The call started with some guy saying "you applied online for the canvasser role and I am holding interviews tomorrow", to which I applied "yes I beleive I did last week...".
I asked what the role is and the working hours was and he replied "well I think I will end this call as it's clear that you did not know what you applied for and my advice is to actually take note of what you apply for in the future and I wish you all the best..."
I asked "OK so before you go how did you know that I didn't take note of what I applied for?!" to which he replied "well you said you 'beleive' you did..." I replied "Well I do know what I applied for and I don't want to go knocking on doors until 9pm and I might of used the word beleive, but you took it out of context, [removed:lang] off, and have a good day..." - bob hopeBirmingham marketing endeavors scam, scam, scam, scam
thanks for the heads up guys the exact same thing happend just today. Got to the first intervew proccess which was lasted only 5 minutes. They phoned me very quickly the day before for an interview the next day. Also on the day there is no sign that identfies the compnay as soon as you get into the building. - Loki| 1 replyHi Guys, just to combat the comments made by 'Josh', I've worked for these companies before, I've even worked for the administration dept and I can categorically tell all of you that these companies are a scam! The structure of these companies are based on pyramid schemes found all over the USA, working on the basis that 'if you get 4 sales per day for 4 weeks, we'll make you a supervisor' and the promotions follow as such, however working 4 weeks in the UK at 6days a week, 12hours a day, walking around some of the roughest areas (I'm an operations manager for a national security company now and I've found myself is some very bad situations because of these door to door sales companies!) it is very difficult for even a proven sales person like myself to keep sales rates that high! (I have been regional top salesman for a number of international retail companies)
My advice to anyone looking for work, skip these companies and keep looking for a career, you will not make money you will just waste time!- Caller: Arcadia, Marketing Endeavors
- HMS replies to LokiHaving worked for OMS for the past couple months I fully understand why people are posting these comments! I didnt get paid a penny from Orrick Marketing Solutions and am owed over £1500. I was promised the world and was shown nothing! One thing I did get from the company is the experience I needed to start my own company.
Because I have seen how bad people get treated I know how to put it right and im sure there are other Direct marketing companies out there that feel the same as me so if you are looking for a career in marketing then just do some research to make sure they are nothing to do with Jamie Orrick. - brains replies to JoshOh really. Well if your spelling and grammer is anything to go on it must be a scam for who would hire such an uneducated smuck.
- Scotty468 replies to primus uk massive con!| 2 repliesSTRATEGIC FIVE SCAM
I also had an interview with s5 marketing which they are now calling strategic five marketing!
In the interview it was explained that they market on behalf of clients using what they called residential sales. I assumed this to be door to door. The manager gave me a vague breakdown about the role telling me that the company was expanding from one office to 40 offices in a year so they were looking for people they could train to become managers. The first round interview was over in 5 minutes, i still had no idea what they did and although i asked several times about the salary, i was told it would be explained in the second round. The second round interview was even more bizarre! The manager introduced me to an "account manager" who then led me out of the building and asked for my cv. I asked him what we were doing outside and he told me we were going to an area called tipton and when I asked what we were doing there, how long we were going to stay there and about the salary, I noticed he became very defensive telling me he was the one doing the interview and that he would let me know at lunch time. I followed relunctantly. In tipton, my suspicions were confirmed, the so called "account manager" put on a charity tabard for deaf children and started knocking on doors, asking people for their bank details. A guy told the "account manager" he wasn't interested several times but he kept on insisting and eventually the man gave in but didn't seem too excited to be donating. At lunch time, in a chicken and chip shop, the so called "account manager" wrote down a management program where he said it took 6 to 10 months to become a manager. He wrote down some figures about estimated earnings on a weekly basis. I asked him why the figures were estimated and weekly and again he got defensive saying that he didn't even know if i would get the position. I pressed him about the salary and he eventually told me that it was 100% commission based, a point he or the manager had failed to mention beforehand just like my sudden trip to tipton. I stayed for the entire interview which ended up lasting over 8 hours and although the so called account manager kept asking "interview questions" i couldn't be bothered to answer, It was obvious i didn't want to be there. I made it back to the office where I had an interview with the "manager" and even though I did not put any effort in, I was offered the position and was pressured to start the next day, he said I was the 'lucky one'. I gladly accepted the position, on my way out, I found out there were alot of 'lucky ones'. I got home at 11pm and needless to say did not turn up the next day! - chris replies to jessicai worked for T , at junior enteprise in cardifffor 4 months, i did actually progress to management fairly quick and took over most of the office, so yeah iw as buzzing got my own office and sat there all day doing sweet f.a , was suppose to be earning 2-4grand a week, i got £100 a week or less for sitting there doing nothing, notbad but still allt hat work 15 hours a day to be promised something and receveing nothing is not within the best benefits for the compnay or its clients or employees, not only this they brain wash you and take th epss out of you, so YES ITS A SCAM DONT FALL FOR IT TAKE IT FROM THE MANAGER!

- Anonymous, southampton replies to Lottie| 1 replyAdd to the list 3 marketing companies that all called me in the same day offering me a job, but all turned out to be sharing the same 'weird' office space: gateway hampshire, 8 global solutions and pretorian marketing. I smelled a rat in the first round interview with gateway hampshire, the office space, if it can be called that was like a crazy sex shop, bright red walls, leather sofas and rock music blasting at 9.30 on a monday morning. There was also a pool table and a couple of desks, but no file cabinets, paperwork, or anything to show that anybody worked there, which automatically made me feel on edge. When i actually got called in for the interview the guy seemed nice enough, i had handed a copy of my CV to the receptionist beforehand, but this guy hadnt even seemed to have read it, as he had no idea what i was talking about when i talked of my previous work experience and started reading through my CV whilst i was sat there. In addition, he didnt actually tell me what the job entailed which i thought was weird, he just kept going on about how in 6months i would be promoted to a supervisor and within 12 months i would be managing my own team. I thought it all sounded crazy, and i never got the chance to ask any questions because the guy just kept talking really fast over me, once he has stopped talking he stood up shook my hand and said he would call me at 4pm to let me know if i got the position. I recieved a call at 7.30pm that night which i ignored because i was in the cinema anyway, and he left a message saying i was successful to the next stage which would be a 9 hour day the next day (tuesday bank holiday the queens jubilee), which was also weird to firstly have an interview on a bank holiday, but secondly asked to work the next day, with no pay on a bank holiday is just ludicrous. The guy never once mentioned salary, or asked me for ID or proof of eligibility to work in the UK. I smelled a rat, and happily did not turn up to this ridiculous 'second stage'.
These people wasted my bank holiday morning, and im just happy i trusted my instincts on this one. Good luck to all that are looking for employment, just keep trying, and i hope this was useful. - angry parent replies to Marketing Scam Companies Info| 1 replyChecked out a company my daughter got "a job" from. They claim to be an established marketing "concept". Based in Hope street Glasgow with no land line number only a mobile (07972130797) yet registered 4 days ago with companies house as in kingfisher house West sussex (address here). Commission only, door to door (oh sorry thats allegedly just training). Wow you can earn between 300- 600 pounds, self employed. The company call themselves First Class concepts and yes they do have a website but with no real information only blogs about watching football and random nonsense. My silly young daughter has been taken in by this numbskull working from early morning till 10 at night and refuses to listen that it is an unscrupulous sales company. Time the job centres and fraud squads did something to deal with these low lifes.Seems like rip off Britain has a legal system not fit for purpose we have the cheek to look down on eastern europe. Young people should be protected from this exploitation...Never mind the info i have gathered has been given to the job centre and I will be passing on to as many agencies as i can. Yes Sebastion you may charm an impressionable 18year old student but I'm of sterner stuff. Anyone with any ideas to deal with this scum let me know (obviously legal ideas, mind you hes in Glasgow he might tread on the wrong toes)

At the time the 'no sales experience necessary' got a few spider-senses tingling but under pressure from the JobCentre to apply for at least 2 jobs a week I submitted an application to make up numbers. Yesterday I was surprised to receive an email saying the following: 'Thank you for your recent application with Gateway Hampshire. I'm happy to say that you are one of the candidates selected for a one-on-one meeting with a member of our management team. We would like to arrange this meeting as soon as possible so we can discuss the opening in detail and find out more about your career goals.' The sender of the email said that they would ring later that day or tomorrow to arrange a time for the meeting (not an interview then?). Having Googled the company and meeting with the vaguest of websites I noticed 'Gateway Hampshire scam' at the bottom of the page which led me here and then the alarm bells started ringing. The person in question, who did not give his surname in the email (more alarm bells!) duly rang at 7pm to tell me that I should be at their premises for 9 o'clock in the morning - I know I'm available for an immediate start but that doesn't mean I can necessarily get to an interview 30 miles away at just over 12 hours notice. I told him that I wouldn't be able to make it at that time so, without any discussion, he told me to be there at 9 am on Wednesday (13th) and that he would email to confirm this. When the 2nd email arrived there was still no surname given but this time an address was supplied along with a photo of the the entrance to the office, which looks as seedy as stated in previous posts! Needless to say I have no intention of going any further with this 'opportunity' but I'm now in a bit of a quandry - I'm concerned that an unreputable organisation has now got all the personal details contained within my CV (I received 3 'nuisance' texts yesterday - coincidence? I think not!) and will look to target me in some way :( I'm also unsure how to handle this situation - do I simply not turn up and ignore any future emails/phone calls or do I respond in some way? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. - TinaThe point towards those who are trying to defend their job here is that your managers or you if
U are the manager is Dishonesty.
I worked in old street London for about 2 months, now I wasn't lazy, but I felt
Guilty signing people up because part of me felt it was a scam. Then I thought maybe it isn't but still didn't manage because of my guilt.
But the Most sadistic cruel funny part is when
I phoned my manager Michael Graham to tell him I was gonna quit the next day I said I might quit, or I might not but I NEED help I need your points on what to do in order to improve'... The
Sad part is after I decides to quit Mike decided to
Call me the next day he took me to this office where he pretends it's his office, and the
VERY VERY FIRST THING HE SAYS TO ME IS....''''stop being a fake''''' and
''''you do not tell me what to do I will run my business how I want to run
it'''' and I was just setting there and thinking ... Huh? I thought I told you yesterday I was gonna quit... And all I did was ask you for your own point of view what I should do, that's not telling you want to do...!
I hope after reading this you will understand why people like
me claim it to be a scam.- Caller: London
- TinaMike decided to speak to me in an office to make it look like he fired me after I quited lol that was just sadistic. The sad part is that according to him I'm a fake and telling him what to do lol... Wow I never knew asking a manager for what I should do whilst i was working there and other jobs was telling him what to do..

- TinaSorry Big mistake I worked in old street for primus uk ltd for 4 WEEKS not 2 months, and all I got was your a fake...
And yes the pyramid scheme is actually against the law in the UK and it is a scan and that's what they use for their system to heir people, so basically people are getting scammed.
All these offices should be shut down, but as a giving person I wouldn't mind if charity people knocked on my door to ask me to donate money for a certain cause as long as they the workers themselves get some benefits on top of their job, for travelling and
ect ect, whatever they need it for..,- Caller: Primus uk is a scam
- tinaok i think its unfair to say its a scam, but the treatments i've seen towards some clients and including me was unfair... but i'm gonna be fair and add some positive points, its not really a sam, because there are commission only jobs, BUT it is a scam in other ways...which you guys already know...
not all of them were horrible, but some had really bad attitude who i spoke to on a 1-2-1 base of business and during the entring and leaving houses...some were nice, usman i can't say anything about him...nicola was nice but she seemed very tooooo close to my face, and that made me feel uncomfortable....i mean when i was working with her during the knockings, maria was good aswell, but her actions when she automatically called me fake was unfair, but that wasn't her fault since i know mike told her to say those things to me.
BUT i hated working there, i mean i thought i was being rude knocking on people door, but i wouldnt mind people who do it at my door as long as its for charity and they are valid workers.
as far as i know doing door to door sales is in fact NOT illegal, and it shouldn't be illegal cause a lot of people suffer from trying to find a job, but they should get some benefits on what needs to be paid such as traffic, and ALL workers SHOULD have a CRB check. so i don't agree that it should be made a scam, but only on certain conditions- Caller: lets be fair
- TinaBy the way I worked there around June 2010, and yeah I got along with everyone especially charity
People, I have NOTHING NOTHING against door to door jobs, but what upsets me the
most is that people are not getting their CRB (criminal record) checked. and this Should apply to those who do door to door since they are dealing with vulnerable people such as the disabled and elderly.
the point is that from my experience the managers don't care I don't know about the other managers there but my one was COMPLETELY out of order, first he
calls me a fake, accuses me of running his business on the my FIRT week, then he does it again on the second week, then again on the third week and on the forth week he acts soo foolish by trying LOOOOOOL trying to
Trick me into going to some FAKE date with one of the
Charity workers from lithuania
Or Armenia by pretending he want to ask me out loooollll or i cant remember there I can't remember his name I think it was something
With a j. Don't get me wrong he was really cute and all
but seriously I haven't got time to be tricked in to silly games, I was there to work, and I dont like set up dates, if a guy wants to date me he should tel me himself, not his freaking friends. I don't do set up dates and i dont like set up dates! And i always say NO to them you only get yeses if you ask me directly. Im currently in love with someone now that is...(Albanian) Unë jam në dashuri me shtratin time, i don't need a man. but I don't find myself attractive just thankful to God I have a bed to sleep in, by the way Im not lazy!
Ok I do say oh he's cute he's fit. But when I'm discussing work with you I expect it to remain as work, and I expect as a worker to get some respect.
So yeah I wish people had their CRBs checked, before they got the jobs, and its NOT a scam, scottish power and so so are FULLY aware this people are working for them, I know cause one of the police phoned them to see if my ID was real on my second week and then he let me off. And that upsets me a lot that they don't do CRB checks when they should. They should not be made illegal or anything but they should at least do crb checks that's all. One of the workers who signed up a disabled woman almost made me cry, cause of the way they signed up the vulnerable lady it was sad, I was almost in tears, come on these people are vulnerable! Its not really a scam just a bunch of workers who don't know what kind of people they are hiring! and mike don't know how to speak to his workers, with him its first call them fake then accuse them of running your business and redo it again every week until they quit and the one day after they decide to quit call them to come
from home to your office around 14:00PM and make it look like you fired them. Looollllll
but act like a gentleman when others are around everyweek
I WILL NOT bad mouth the other managers there, since I can't say anything bad about them, I got along with the other managers a lot never had bad experiences with them in anyway or form.- Caller: It's not really a scam
