Called from this number today - pre-recorded message about a £1,000 refund. Invites one to press 5 to connect or 9 to "unsubscribe".  Message does not identify who is ringing and is unclear about why a refund is forthcoming.  This call also received earlier this week with withheld number and not answered, where the same message was left on answerphone.  Seems similar to the touting approach used by the PPI scammers.

call received at 5 pm today. no info at to who the caller is. offering a refund for a loan.

I had the same call as the report I have just read at 11.32 today.  A recorded message saying it was an urgent message saying that there is £1,000 if I am under 60 and to press 5.  I didn't listen to any more but put the phone down.

Classic unsolicited scam call hiding behind recording.

This number keeps ringing me even though I have registered with the Telephone Preference Service.  Apparently I can't report them through this service as it is a recorded message.  I can report them through the Information Commissioners Office but need to know the company name to do so!!!  Obviously the recorded message doesn't include this information.  Anyone know who they are?

Received a call from this number at 11:31 today.   'Urgent message'  No announcement as to who was making the call - pre-recorded message about a £1,000 pension bonus. Invites one to press 5 for more info. Message does not identify who is ringing and gives no info as to why a bonus might be forthcoming.  I pressed 5 but suspecting a scam, put receiver down and did 1471.  Got this number.

Denied they had an office in Wigan, when asked for company office details they hung up.

Full call is recorded (including the misleading message) and will be sent to Ofcom and the ICO as well as the customer.

recieved call approx  15min ago  asking me to press 5   it  was a  matter of life or death  almost  it  was  obviously a scam

Got a call from this number. Used 1471 to identify it. There was a recorded message from a woman with a welsh accent inviting me to press 5 to take further a claim for £1000 if I was under 60 - I am 74 - so much for their database!

I did not press 9 to unsubscribe as this would indentify a valid phone number

Obviously a nuisance call - why does anyone respond? They wouldl not call if they are not getting something out of it. If no-one took them up then they would stop.

I am on the telephone preference service, but that is a toothless organisation.

I, too, received an unsolicited call (a recorded message, just as described by others on this page), but hung up before the message had finished.

Did the recorded message go on to give this address information, or did you call the number back?

I agree with others here that it's most likely a phishing scam, and anyone receiving  a call like this should hang up right away.

Had an identical call today. The lady had a northern accent and sounded slightly breathless (nerves?). The message was so quick I didn't have time to assimilate everything said but it was something to do with a 1000 pound pension bonus.....?

I did listen to the call it wasn't a recording it was a bloke and he said i would be rang back in 15 mins by one of their handlers to discuss my claim for a £1000 refund he just asked my name and if i had a company frozen pension or a private one and if i was under 60 he repeated my number after me to make sure he had it correct. I asked how come he didn't know it as he had just rung it and he rang off.so i came on here to try and find out where it had come from whilst on here my phone has rung but after reading the comments i have not answered.

Just received a call from this number "URGENT - you own us money - please press 5 immediately". I've reported this one to the police. They have indicated that all calls of this nature should be reported to them on the non emergency number - 101

Called today, 20/10/2012 @ 12:10ish. Didn't answer as I didn't recognise the number. No voicemail left

short call saying that money was due  to me time of call1050

Received several calls from this number with various answers, either a man calling or a pre-recorded message or simply the number hung up.
