- bigwigDon't know who this is but it's not applicable to us as we are over 60. Very persistant though. We just erase without answering.
- Caller: unknown
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Philip EarwickerSame number, same message, press 5- timed at 11.20am 08/11/12
- Caller: unknown
- AJust had this message, I started laughing when they said they were going to give me £1000 then hung up.
A.- Caller: As above
- IrritatedAnswered this because it was Manchester code & I have family there - recorded voice talking about Private Pension Bonus..
- SimonAnd another one, tried ringing but after two ringing tones the line identifies itself as being'busy' we too are on TPS but we are getting more calls than ever. Watch out for the helpful man claiming to be from microsoft and he is going to fix errors on your computer, this is a very expensive scam leaving people £1000's out of pocket in some cases.
- JoanSimilar message, but mentioned private pension. Don't have one, so suspected, and ignored!
- Caller: unknown
- SuesigsHad call today around 5.30pm. Said i was owed £1000+ for pension because I was under 60 - sadly not!!!! invited me to press 5 to proceed or 9 to unsubscribe - declined both options and hung up.
- Caller: don't know
- MidlothianWe received a call at approx 13.50 today Thursday 8th November 2012 but did not answer the phone. We did not recognise the number and it appears from other messages that we did the right thing. So thank you to all who have reported it.
- Caller: 01610610056
- GlasgowNumber called at 1220 hrs and left a message on the answer phone. I have not phoned back. If something seems too good to be true it usually is. Just hang up on these people.
- GwynI was called from this number.A recorded message said that it was an urgent message regarding my private pension. It said I may be due a 1000 pound bonus,I was told either to press 9 or to press 3.I did neither.
- Caller: Not known
- the organistI had a call from this number and as I have friends in the same area number, I picked up. Same as other reports, a recorded message say "our records show that as I'm under 60, I could be entitled to a £1000 refund, press 5 to proceed or 9 to unsubscribe. I pressed 5 and spoke to some guy immediately. I asked him how he got my number - "the computer did it". On the grounds that this is random dialling I asked how he thought I was under 60, how did "their records" show I was entitled to a refund? No answer. I asked him to confirm my name and address on the grounds "that their records...." etc etc. No answer. I then let rip with a barrage of expletives to the effect that I was sick & tired of these phone calls and I would be reporting them. Whether he listened or not I have no idea. I am on TPS and other such organisations but this crowd of chancers seem to have got through. Bar Stewards - all of them. NOW - I feel a lot better for that!!!!
- Caller: No idea

.....
Trading Standards are warning Staffordshire residents to be aware of a pension bonus telephone scam. The scammers are telephoning people and stating they are from the Pension Helpline. The caller then claims that you are due a £1,000 bonus within the next 12 weeks. Callers may even be able to provide you with some of your personal information such as name or address.
Protect yourself and never provide any personal information to a cold caller. Always telephone the company directly from a number on your paperwork or get the number from a telephone directory to confirm if the call was genuine.
You can register both your landline and mobile numbers with the following FREE services and are advised to do so on a YEARLY BASIS
The Telephone Preference Service – 0845 070 0707
Silent Call Guard – 0844 372 2325
If you believe you have been the victim of any such scam then you should also report the matter to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or report it on their website: http://www.actionfraud.org.uk/report_fraud

- StarmanMy wife took a call at 5.11pm Nov 12th. Recorded message – gabbled quickly-something about if you under 60 you are due more pension - press "1" to find out more - she did not. Woman's voice-not foreign.
1471 gave 01619610056. - TrishThis was left on answerpone asking me to ring back re some claim.
Obviously I didn't return call - DBReceived a pre recorded message about my supposed £1000 pension bonus payment which urgently needs processing in the next 12 weeks. Told to press 5 to continue which no doubt would have connected me to an expensive phone number. Nothing to identify who initiated the call. They did offer the chance to 'unsubscribe' which is a bit of a cheek since I did not 'subscribe' in the first place!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- GoldieboyJust received a pre-recorded call from this number, stating that it was urgent and as I was under 60 (I wish!) I am entitled to a £1000 bonus if I return the call immediately by pressing 5 or 9 to unsubscribe. Didn't do that and waited for the message to be repeated but it didn't. I have now reported it to scams@oft.gsi.gov.uk as a result of reading other messages on this website
- Caller: No idea - recorded message
