Better to rely on your home insurance or the free one that your bank account may include. - ABCJames Turner cut out your games you evil little 4 eyed tosser
- moDo not believe for one minute that you cannot cancel protect a gadgets insurance I was tricked by their staff into having insurance with them. When I rang them to cancel it they told me I couldn't cancel because my 14 day statutory cooling period had expired. I then rang super cover on the same day and they cancelled it without a quibble.
- JoHahahaha Had missed call so called back and when I asked firstly if they were trying to sell me insurance I was told no, then asked why different companies keep calling I was told because they are different companies and when I asked where all these companies were getting my number from the advisor hung up!

- larathey rang me on my new mobile phone i wasnt able to answer at the time so i rang them back, they told me they will discount my phone insurance down to 5.99 per month and i will get 2 months free, okay i said i will call you back, when i rang again they told me its 5.99 per month and one month free. i am confused and dont know whats going on and nobody will answer there phone
- Russ CRecieved a call from them today telling me I had "great news" about my new (Vodaphone) account. I explained that I was not the contract holder; I am setting the phone up for a relative. The caller then said that he would "bar the contract" until my relative called. I asked if this call was regarding insurance and he said "no". At no time was any mention of call recording made. This call happened at 11:00am today.
After doing some research I concluded that the best option was to call them back to clarify the call, based on what I had seen here. The call was answered by a "Martin". I explained that someone had called me and he responded that it was one of the sales team about my phone. When pressed, he said it was in relation to the insurance I had, as they could offer a discount on the premium.
As this phone has no insurance, I must conclude that this is a standard line, based on the assumption that the majority of new contract-holders will take insurance from their provider. This approach makes the company seem more legitimate when calling, I suppose.
Suffice to say, we shall not be pursuing business with them. A number of very reliable and affordable companies exist that have been properly vetted- I have found one I like through the Money Saving Expert website and Which? website.
I cannot comment on the legality of this company, as I have not directly traded with them. However, in two conversations with them, they made two misleading statements (claiming to not be calling regarding insurance and claiming to save money on a premium I didn't actually have) and neglected a legal obligation (no statements about affiliations or lack thereof with provider, no statements about conversation recording). Thus, I would certainly call into question their ethics and professional practice.

- MIKEI have spoken to trading standards about this company who make you think that you are getting a discount and before you know it after handing out all your bank details you are signed up to a new insurance which they wont let you cancel afterwards, trading standards have told me that they have recieved hundreds of similiar complaints about PROTECTAGADGET and are currently in the process of seeking an order to close them down, in the meantime all I can do is keep a record of every call i make to them and use a recorded delivery for every letter I send.

i have 2 iPhone fantastic that these guys phoned me up i was paying 13.99 each but now only 7.99 each in my eyes these guys have saved me half of wat i was going to be paying. - Steve PGot a contract phone for the wife on 1st August 2011. 2nd August [TODAY] the phone rings and someone starts telling the wife they are from Vodaphone, and started to get technical. She said Hubby is the contract holder so ring him.
So they are ringing me again on the 3rd August. Looking forward to it now. Forewarned is forearmed :-)
On a different note. I also upgraded my Orange phone on the 1st August, at an Orange shop.
No one has rung about that one ;-) - frank capronbut how do these people get hold of the number to call in the first place? my call cam through within 24 hours of purchase!
- Katie replies to REIThis company called me up after I had bought a new mobile phone contract. They kept calling lowering their insurance rates each time. They took my bank details and the next MAGICALLY my card was CLONED! They tried to use it to buy something from CURRY'S electrical store! They are scum stealing from a single mother with a 4 month old baby to feed! Luckily the con artists didnt do too well as they did not get away with it! Kind of them to help themselves to my details to buy themselves something. NOT A COMPANY TO TRUST UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO BE BUYING THEMSELVES A NEW FRIDGE FREEZER OR WASHING MACHINE USING YOUR DEBIT CARD!
- Disgruntled CustomerI was already on a better deal and they tried to convince me that my current deal didn't actually cover what i was told and that the sales rep in store was most probably mistaken. i phone up the store and they confirmed that i WAS COVERED for £3.99 a month for EVERYTHING, obviously i wanted to cancel but my phone calls from my mobile get getting ignored/not answered although the time i called from my landlines it was answered straight away. Weird That?

- SHad a new voda from carphone warehouse. The next working day [today] received this call from some mobile phone insurance company. When I asked who gave you my number I was told 'nobody gave' the number [implying probably that it's in their reach].. then when I said I didn't wana receive any call I heard the lady saying 'well I can remove you from our list but that won't stop other companies from calling you' ... was that little cheeky or I just felt it?? still I said 'yes please will you remove my number from your list?'!! hopefully it was removed but I instantly ended up receiving a text message to insure my phone.

- S replies to New phone ownerI think it depends on the handset you have as they come with different options.. I have just now [after being scared by telemarketers] managed to blacklist numbers on my mobile. I could bar their number specifically by entering it in the 'blacklist numbers' in my phone under 'call rejection' option. I could also choose to reject all calls starting with 08 numbers .. I hope this would give an end to my problem. May be you could look for similar options on your mobile. Good Luck!
