Good advice, don't give your details to this or any other company who phone you out of the blue.

Had similar call, again knew I had a new phone from Voda but not make / model.

I had a call from the company earlier saying my current insurance was £9.99 a month and £50 excess (don't know where they got that from since I don't have insurance for it)  and they could offer me it for £6.99 a month snd £25 excess. The guy on the phone kept on until I said "I don't have insurance yet, its going on the house insurance" at which pt he questioned whether I was sure I didn't have insurance and then went ok we'll take you of our list then

Had a call from them today saying i currently pay £9.99 and im eligible for a discount so its £6.99 a month and the whole half the excess its actually a very good price if i do say so myself, however from the moment i answerd the phone i had no trust in the company myself i actually work for the countries leading waranty provider selling extended waranties and i know for a fact that if a call is being recorded the staff need to make you aware before they go any further with the call (ITS THE LAW) well it was not said to me although mr customer service man on here seems to think calls are recorded!! maybe check out the law :) , and the fact they never knew what phone i had but could give me a price straight away is a bit of a sham really if i had just got a very cheap phone would your really charge the same price for a very expensive phone? i hope not, anyways the company is probs fine and fsa regulated etc they just need some customer service training coz the questions i was being asked well and truely went against the DPA , also i must add this bit when call centres call you to do things like this and only want a sort code and account number dont be worried about giving it out as its completely unsensitive data you can only set up a Direct debit and pay money into an account with it also people remember the person calling you is only doing thier job so be as polite as you can :o) peace out

What do you expect Martyn - You obtain people's mobile number by dubious methods and cold call pretending to be giving a courtesy call from the company who supplied the phone or the network - Basically you are lying to people.

Why don't you tell us where you get our numbers from?  - Not chance you will do that though is there? I think "Clivalicious" is spot on with the way you get the numbers...... Take the hint people do not want your [***] insurance company ringing then!!!

Dubious methods?? if you worked in the telesales industry i think you would understand the method of telemarketing?? we simply offer a cheaper product than the extortionate high street store prices?? the stores will tell you that you HAVE to take insurance in order to get the contract??? not strictly true!! thats the same as saying you can only have a car from a main dealer if you have main dealer insurance! who's conning who people?? wakey wakey!!

Its simple, i'll say it again £9.99 a month with a £50 excess fee (approx £180 over 18 months) or £127over 18 months with a £25 excess fee!! NO BRAINER.

DONT FORGET CHECK THE FSA REGISTER (OUR NUMBER 411453) BEFORE YOU LISTEN TO THE SCARE AND SAVE TACTICS THAT THE STORES WILL USE !!!!

Yes I will say it again for those who are simply not listening!! slanderous comments are usually left by disgruntled phones 4 u staff who lose their commission when the customer swaps their insurance to us, (i like the way phones 4 u have placed an advert on this site against our number!!!! clearly they feel they need to compete against a small independant insurance company! we must be good!!) and again a simple market research excersise will gain the new numbers we need to promote our service! too many trade secrets will end up with independant mobile phone insurance firms everywhere!! sorry...and nice try!!

Hmmm still no response on how you get our numbers Martyn?? Says it all I think....

And for the record I am not a Phones4u employee, just someone who is f*cked off with your crappy little company ringing multiple times since I took out a new phone contact.

There are complaints all over the internet about your company making unsolicited calls to new mobiles from vodafone / phones4u. A poster on here has even eluded to how you get the numbers buy regularly purchasing phones in order or work out which numbers have been recently allocated.

If you don't want people complaining about your company STOP making called to numbers you have obtained in an underhand manner - Not to comprehend is it you [***]????

market researcher? does he double as the tea boy? your registered address is a rundown shop and your website looks like it was designed by a 5 year old (or maybe it was your "market researcher"?) so I seriously doubt you do any market research - If you did you would know that people do not want to be cold called and lied to by a [***] little company like yours.

frankly if you think you have the right to ring my number without permission then I more than have the right to call you an [***]!

we have many many happy customers i'm afraid, and i'll gladly get the tea boy to make you a cuppa if you want to call in any time for a chat, in fact i'll give you a discount on your policy if you like, a gesture of goodwill.
    regards
