I've just had a missed call from this number, after 2 weeks of constant calls from a similar number connected to Halifax. Funny thing is, I haven't got any accounts with Halifax, and haven't got any credit cards, so they can't be chasing me for money!

Take care. It is a scam from a company named First Assist, who pretend to be working "on behalf of" various reputable companies, in an attempt to get personal data from you. It affects all of these numbers:
    02031034000
    02031035176
    02031035177
    02031035178
    02031035180
    02031035220
You can see further details on this site, if you type in any of those numbers into the search box on the top left corner.

    FINALLY- THE TRUTH
I can put you all out of your misery, 02031034000 is the Halifax/HBOS calling you.

I had a few of these calls and refused to give ANY details, they kept on calling. They said they needed to talk to me on a business matter and needed to confirm they were speaking to the correct person and so needed some personal information. They wanted to know my date of birth, after I explained I was dubious they told me the year and just asked for the day and month, then they told me my house number and asked for my postcode so I told them.
It turned out I had un-knowingly missed a credit card payment and they were calling to chase the payment. I told them I would have it sorted the next day and they haven't called since (I did sort it the next day by the way)

In case any of you still doubt, how could they know I had missed a payment if they were scammers (when I checked up I had missed one)

Just got a call claiming to be from the Halifax. The bloke didn't seem to know what he was doing and tried to confirm my date of birth twice.
He asked about hobbies and stuff and told me about life insurance, then confirmed my name, DOB and address. Then he asked for my back details, claiming they came up as 'stars' for him and he wouldn't know if they were correct.
He said he'd wait while I got my details, so I said I would then hung up.

I got another call from them about 10 minutes later.

I am receiving an average of three calls a day from this number and have been for almost two months. I am housebound and find the hang-up calls distressing. My number is on the tps blocked list however this is not stopping them. I have tried calling the number when feeling well enough but get through to a voicemail which merely says "one of our representatives tried calling you". It does not state the company name. If I could find out who is making the calls I would take legal action as the distress it is causing me is leading to significant anxiety.

I keep getting calls from this number too (1-4 a day), called the Halifax this morning (08457283848) and they claim that this is nothing to do with them.  They have now added a note to my account to stop all calls.  I have a credit card with them and that is all and I am not behind on any payments.  I would suggest that you do not divulge any information if contacted via 02031034000 and contact the Halifax as they seem to be the company that keeps cropping up as responsible for this nuisance (search 02031034000 in google and see for yourself).

If they add a similar note to your account and the calls subsequently stop I would be a little suspicious that Halifax are not be totally truthful.  If they do not stop, the above posts detail a number of useful agencies that may be able to help.

An asian woman called and said they were from Halifax and asked for my postcode and year of birth, she then requested me to make a payment of £135 as i was over my over, which wasn't correct, so i asked her to give me details of why this has happend - she told me she couldn't review this information and neither could the Customer Service Team.  I told her to get lost in a not so polite way and put the phone down - i called the Halifax to double whether it was a prank call and they confirmed noone from Halifax has called me - so becareful guys cause they asked me to make a payment for an account which is in credit!

I keep getting calls from th 02031034000 number If I miss this call I do a 1471 it says this number called and one of its representatives will call back later.  When I get to answer this call the person wishes to speak to one of my sons and when I ask who they are they say they are from the Halifax.  I had a call today and when I said "are you the 0203 number that keep calling could you tell me where you are based"?  They say because of confidentiality they cant give that information.  Isnt it strange how we are a society that allow people to hide behind confidentiality and risk.
