Loads of calls from this number - no idea who they are - any ideas?

I have never had anything with the Halifax!

I've been receiving calls off these people for the last couple of days, when I answer I get "Hello, can I speak to Amy please?" then when I say speaking, they repeat themselves again and then hang up. I haven't ever banked with Halifax, so not sure that it definitely is them?

Calling me many times a day.  Calls start from 6:00am.  Say they are from Halifax.  I have never nor do I have an account with Halifax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even answer unknown numbers any more - way too many fake calls and slimey recruitment c###s. People will always leave a voicemail if they've got anything important to say.
Anyway, if these people are claiming to be Halifax, like many other posters on here, I've *never* had *any* dealings with Halifax whatsoever, so it must be a scam.

I've had 4 calls in the space of 10 minutes - by the time I gat to answer the call they hav hung up and don't leave any message.
I don't have a Halifax Credit Card, so I think Jayne should take her vitrious comments and crawl back under her hole - she is probably one of the braid dead that make the calls!

Called me twice today on my mobile.  Didn't answer as I didn't recognise the number.  Glad I didn't bother after reading these posts!  No message left.

This number rang me, leaves no message and when you ring it back it says its someone tried calling and couldn't get you and they will try later. Love these vermin.

It's from Aqua Credit Card (A subsidiary of Halifax) - chasing a missed payment

Had a call from this number on my mobile yesterday. No idea why. I have nothing to do with the Halifax. Nothing at all. I'd also like to know why they have my mobile phone number.

Its is Aqua Card services, part of Halifax

This is used by all the HBOS branded credit services - Aqua, Bank of Scotland, Halifax etc.

As has been said already, pay your bills on time, and they won't bother you.

well its not your bank love dont worry see this happened to me it pissed me off big time so i stayed on the line five minutes later they answered as soon as i said who are you they put the phone down THIS IS A SCAM BEWARE

02031034000 call from asian guys saying he is from Aqua and asked me to confirm my details before would tell me about call - said i would call back as sounded dodgy and when i asked for a number to call back on he said it would be on statement and got arsey saying i want to call back so i should find number

This may also be from Marbles, chasing a missing payment.

Easier said than done sometimes, but the best thing to do is contact them first before they start ringing you.

Called me today saying they're form Aqua (part of Halifax).  After he narrating my name with a heavy office noise in the background where I could hear a woman talking to another customer, he wanted to know my date of birth. I got a but suspicious you know, he could be anything. I said tell me three date of birth and I’ll say which one is correct. He kind of understood me after while that I didn’t feel secure on the phone so he said “Why don’t  you give us a call back if you don’t believe who we are” with an aggressive sound. Also I had 4 missed calls before this. When I call the number back it only says “we’ll call you back”.

I spoke with one of their callers last month, a stroppy young lady who obviously didn't think of me as a 'customer' judging from her lousy attitude - I just gave as good as I got and cut her off.

Their latest trick is to ring as early in the morning as possible - they only have my mobile number and they rang at 8.10am. Doesn't matter on a weekday but I suspect they will pull the same stunt at the weekend.
