I've been called on seveeral ocassions by differing numbers to include:
02031034000,01792474700,01159599966x3 calls,07953966066.As I'm always at work when these calls come through i've never answered. What can be done to stop these nuisance calls?

When you go to the bank, and sign up for any new service, be it a current account or a mortgage etc, you normally have a box on some form asking you for your permission to allow these service calls. We`ve all seen them.
If you took as much time to read the detail and disclaimers, as you do to sit down, log on and promptly type in your specific grievance, then you may understand why you get these calls.

Arn't you lot lucky! They have been calling me 6+ times a day on two different numbers, I wouldn't mind but not once have they actually stayed on the line long enough for me to speak to them. I would pay my bill, it's only about a tenner anyway, but I can't if they don't even talk to me! Twice I have actually been lucky enough to hear them putting the phone down but most of the time I just get the dial tone.

these people are calling because you clearly haven't paid your credit card bills. If you paid your bills on time there wouldnt be any need for them to call you. They aren't unsolicited calls as they aren't trying to seel you anythig and whether or not you are on TPS makes no difference. Pay the bill on time=no more missed calls from the number!

missed call today, 3rd one this month, so not regular which is irratating as i want to speak to them.

moved house and missed cc payment - paid via bank of scotland and halifax ccs lost payment so assume its to do with that.

i would suggest that they are simply an independent call centre that are used by many different companies, halifax being the biggest contract they have.

    sounds like it to me

i was in the bank of scotland - and we called the cc collections call centre at the halifax and the bank manager could not understand ANYONE in the call centre

i think its just the way HALIFAX operates - not well!

I had a partial pre-recorded message on my mobile from this number. The only bit of the message that was audible said that if I did not wish to receive further calls I should contact them on 08456306420. When I tried this number it was not in service. How unprofessional!

When I called them on 02031034000 there was a recorded message saying "One of our representatives tried to contact you earlier. We will try another time". I haven't heard from them in a week so it can't be urgent.

Many companies use the same telemarketing firms for the same thing. I was getting a lot of calls from another number and when I finally got hold of them in turns out they represent several motor insurance companies. Using price comparison websites is a good way to get your details on lots of other companies' lists too.

I got several quotes for travel insurance recently and about four of them were from outfits acting as agents for LV. All of the quotes for off site parking at Luton Airport were identical but via three separate agents including the airline I was flying with.

Of course many insurance, bank and credit card brand names are owned by a small number of companies. My former car insurer is owned by a company which also owns several other well known insurers. Direct Line is a division of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Santander owns a number of UK banks and building societies. Halifax and Bank of Scotland merged some time ago and have since acquired some well known credit and store cards. The list goes on.

Basically anyone thinking that they don't have an account with, for example HBOS, should check the fine print on their credit card or statement. You may be with a subsidiary.

I received a call from this number today on my landline.  I do not have any credit cards or bank loans, my bills are all up to date, I do not give the number to anyone, not do I even use the landline.  The conflicting accounts of this number lead me to believe it must be a scam.

I get 10+ calls a day from these people but the phone only rings once. What is the point in calling if you don't even let people answer?

Had issues with the Halifax trying to sell some insurance wasn't interested but  still kept calling, 3 times a day was not unusual  only when I let one unfortunate @ Halifax who answered know in no uncertain terms what I though about them, then it stopped I guess for 3 months or so, obviously Halifax are complete tossers and its them you should give the grief too, after all the phone pigs who do the calling couldn't give a Shiite, be all nice until you get through to the actual Halifax call desk then waste their time for as long as possible I got up to 8 minutes then through to supervisor and let him have it , they dont have any qualms about making your life a misery so do likewise
