Report a phone call from 02076197597 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Lucy FairbairnI have been called on numerous occasions from this number
- MikeI got a call from this number on my mobile, answered it, but there was no one there. So I called the number and got a very quick message in an American accent telling me I'd been called by a charity, and if I didn't want to be called again to phone another number. I didn't catch the number and haven't phoned it. it all seems very suspicious.
- TroyNever donate through cold calls or street chuggers donate directly to the charity. This way your full donation will be put to good use and not just a percentage of the donation. These firms make massive profits out of people's good nature
- AllenThis number calls me but hangs up when the answerphone cuts in. I am registered with TPS.
- Jamael Westman replies to EvaHello Eva, I used to work at the call centre that called you on behalf of The Children's Society, and I thought I'd comment to clear up some of the minor issues you seem to have regarding the phone call we had.
Firstly, your sort code is the address of your bank branch, just identifying the particular branch you have started your bank account with.
Secondly, your account number identifies who you are, in a metaphorical term, it is your name in numbers.
Thirdly the only thing that can be achieved by having these details is to put money into your account, or apply for a direct debit, a scheme that only registered companies can have.
These details are non-sensitive. If you were to lose your bank card, these details remain the same, the only details that are very sensitive are your 16 digit number and security number on the back, otherwise why would they be printed on every statement you recieve in the post? Thousands of post gets lost each year.
The reason we make calls rather than as much post, is not only because its safer, but also more cost effective and humane, if you were to help a charity wouldn't you have questions that need answering? Wouldn't talking to another human being about the importance of supporting your brothers and sisters in dire situations make more sense?
I'm only saying this incase someone who has questions about charitable giving over the phone sees this website, gets the wrong impression, and chooses not to help the millions of children who need it. I also hope this alleviates any concerns you may have. Thank you.
Jamael - MeHad a few missed calls from this number. I texted a number on a billboard to receive an info pack about checking for breast cancer. I assume it's a call-back from that as I can't think who else would be calling me.
- FredOver the last 7 or 8 days this number has called 12 times. This is excessive and a nuisance. They keep calling at times when I am not available. When do they give up pestering? They never leave a message on the machine.
- Caller: Don't know.
- Frank| 1 replyWhat a load of crap Jamael Westman speaks above, don't give anyone your details over the phone think about it you wouldn't do it in he street with someone you can physically see.
Donate to the charities directly please do not use these marketing company parasites who take large chunks of your donations for themselves.
Go direct to the charity they need it the most. - DYes it is a charity of which I donated to once and they continue to try their luck!
- BogI sent a text in response to an advert to do so and get the five signs of cancer. I have yet to receive them, but have had an acknowledgement text asking me to check their terms and conditions (the page link does not work) and have had several calls. The first one I answered but they clearly wanted a lot of my time and I was at work so declined. Since then, with hindsight, I have worked out that this is a charity hastle. The annoying thing is that there was NO indication of that in the advert or I would never have sent the text. Very cross!

Unable to access the link, I have now had five phone calls - I am opting out as soon as I can! Sharp practice!- Caller: Breakthrough Breast Cancer

- HeatherI got stopped by shelter people today and they got me to text a donation, it was a follow up call to get me to sign up to give them more money

- rhiasent a donation via a text message to this number a few days back, today is 13 november 2012. the charity is to do with forced marriages. since then i have received persistent calls enough to make me fed up. also sadly i shall no longer be sending donations by text, something i did regularly as it is an easy way of giving. i wonder if it was a bona fide charity as no name was given making me wonder if it was a con. this is the end of my donating by text. a shame as i managed to give to lots of different charities this way.
i telephoned BT and my cellphone provider but alas they were not able to help me as this number is a front used by the caller.- Caller: none given
- Dudesama replies to kittylovesvodkaI just received a call from this number as well and I also donated to scope!! I think it must be those heathens since i haven't donated to anyone else
- BarbI have received a few missed calls from this number. I did pick up once and was informed that I had sent a text to donate to a particular charity a while back (which I do remember), and he was wondering if I had time to hear of progress being made (which I didn't). I definitely will not be sending text donations in future. Isn't it a shame that a lot of charities will now lose out due to unscrupulous and unnecessary intrusions.

- PeterIt's a marketing company trying to get you to donate more so they can take a share of it for themselves.
It's better to approach the charity direct to donate then that way they will receive the full donation and not just part of it - EmmaThis number has phoned me twice today.
- pat mccamleyAbsolute pain in the neck ! Should be allowed to shoot on sight.
- ToashiI've been getting calls from this number too, i dont answer them, i get them on my mobile and house phone. For you know, people are saying its a charity, but have you noticed how many different charities its coming off as, its probs a scam, asking for direct debit donations to get account details.
- mazza52Have had at least 3 calls per day for the last 3 days.
Dont know who it is and they dont leave a message
