Report a phone call from 02078909052 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- JaneIncidentally, as I understand it, the TPS thing is irrelevant if the company got your number from a company you are a customer of, or if it's the actual company you're a customer of calling.
It also apparently doesn't apply if they're calling from outside the UK (although this one is a London number so if they are random dialling and you're on TPS they're not allowed to do that). - .I'm now getting calls from this number?
Is a small thing and probably won't make much of a difference but join this facebook group and log your complaints and maybe it might work as a petition against automated dialling systems if enough people join? they need to be regulated in some way, it's beyond a joke!

- GreyBeardthese people certainly like to call on Sundays! they rang me at 17:19 today but i was dozing and missed the call.
the above comments made interesting reading. the GFK NOP website has a link to a parent company, GFK Group. if the websites are genuine, then GFK isn't after identity theft, they just have questionable ways of operating.
and i don't believe the 'random number dialling' comments, because too many times they know the name of the person they want to speak to.- Caller: not shown
- Wendy VAnswered the phone and got an Indian chap asking for my husband (how they get your name is beyond me, especially as we're supposed to be ex-directory!) When I asked him who was calling, he rather rudely said he couldn't say as it was confidential! What a load of crap - it's only market research - pathetic! As he wouldn't tell me who he was I'm now glad that I hung up!!! So fed up with these calls every day!
- Caller: Didn't say!
- EPJust had a call from this number. Didn't answer as I don't know anyone from London to receive calls from that area code. Only 2 weeks ago I changed my number with o2 as I was receiving so many calls from these kind of people. How the hell do they find your number??!?!?!?!?!?!??? Sooo annoying. Anyone who works for these companies is a parasite.
- EmmaCalled and a woman asked to speak with my mother, who is 67. I asked her what business she had with my mother. Caller refused to tell me, saying it was confidential. I told her that my mother is 67 and I will not allow them to scam her. Caller raised her voice and said that I'd go to jail if I didn't put my mother on the phone. My mother took the phone from me, said 'Goodbye' and hung it up her self :D:D:D
These leeches can go and jump off a cliff. - hugh| 1 replyThey are all parasites! Just like the Labour rubbish government - and they can't change a law - just create lots of other totally useless laws.
- AlexGot a missed call from this number today on my mobile - guess they ring those too!
- kazi have had several missed calls at various times of days and nights rangeing from 8am in morning to 10.30pm at night, the one time i did answer it, they were asking for my boyfriend who doesnt live with me, saying they are doing a survey on autoglass, i told them that he doesnt live here and not too call again but they do, i am now awaiting for them to ring back and i am going to say to them hang on a minute i just need to do something and then blow a whistle down the phone,,,,,,,,,, i really hope they will take the hint this time, revenge is sweet!!
- PaulJust had a call from this number. As alot of you have mentioned, it was a chap with a indian accent. Worrying thing is that he knew my name and was claiming to be from my bank(he also knew who I bank with).
I hung up immediatly, but beware all. - FaloolaGot this just now. I didn't answer as I was too busy typing the number in Google as i was pretty sure it was going to be a cold caller.
I work in the principle of if its someone I know using a number I don't know they will leave a voicemail, ring back straight away, call from a number I know or text me to tell me to pick the flipping phone up! - Lewis| 1 replyGot like 4 missed calls from this number on my mobile and was like wtf. Don't even know anyone whos area code is 02078. So I didnt pick up. Glad I never now anyway there probably one of those scam numbers which cost you money when you answer and tbh if they ring me again I'm gonna pick up and tell them to [***] off litterally. Funny how I got a with held call for like the first time in months soon after aswell though...These types of people really piss me of to be honnest.

- Jimmy ChewJust had a phone call claimin to be on behalf of my bank and wanted to ask me a few questions, this alarmed me as banks don't usually call people, the knew my name and which bank provider i am with :S i was quite worried that they could gain my information somehow
- Ste from ItalyThey called to my (I live in Italy!!!) cell phone and a boy trying to speak in a enthusiastic way started speaking friendly, as I made him some questions ("How you know my name and number?") he continued with other questions, until he put down the phone.
- oooclearly
they have got you banks details from your bank, doing customer satisfaction.
why because someone called you whos number you don't reconsize are you all getting suspicious. - ANSWER| 2 repliesi can enlighted you all.
GFKNOP are a real company. you can ring the market research society on 0500396999 and they conform this for you.
they are NOT doing idenitity theft. just simply trying to do market research.
they sometimes have you name because they are ringing on behalf of a company that you are apart of. e.g customer satisfication on behalf of you bank or your breakdown cover.
they sometimes don't have your number and name, this is when they use 'random digiting dialing' a standard market research process. when they take numbers and change the last digit to make a new number via a computer. this is when the company they calling on behalf of what to speak to a representive sample of the public for example 100 people from each county.
there you go.
NO SCAN. just market research even if they work and stupid hours and ring all the time.
just the first time say, im not interested.
and they wont call you back, not lie and say ring another time when you dont want them too, because they WILL keep ringing once you have said that.
