Keep getting missed calls from this number on my mobile. No idea how they got my number as it's such a new phone that I don't even know the number. They must be randomly generated, either that or o2 are selling customer details. Will answer it next time and see if they have my name!

First time this has happened to me.
18:32hrs - received a call from this number - some non-Brit female asking me to do a TV survey.
I hung up, rang 1471 to get the number, went on-line and here I am.
I am registered with TPS - any suggestions of what I should do now?

This number keeps calling my mother - it's disturbing as she's elderly and slightly deaf.  Her number is ex-directory and registered with TPS.  What can we do about intrusions like this?
Regards to all who are bothered by this caller - we've really had enough of it.

I am in Ireland and I have had a number of missed calls from +442088618682 and +442031390452. Because the numbers are not in my phone list I will not answer their calls. Not sure what i can do in Ireland to get them to stop

Confirmed as Ipsos Mori - a market reseach institute. They call on behalf of whatever company pays them to do the research.

If you call back, you get given a list of contact options including an address in Edinburgh.... planning on sending all my junk mail, and any old scraps of paper to this address with a little note explaining that unwanted communication is an invasion of privacy and I will entertain their researchers when they prove they can be of use to me by stopping my junk mail.

Got another call from these people this morning (sunday)dont they ever give up?Held the phone down the flushing toilet...Hope they got the message!!!

If they call your mobile or home phone and you can trace the number then a good idea is to have it blocked from calling, these type of people will call so many times a day its worth it to get rid of them.

Do NOT ANSWER! : Data fleecing call from these scam artists. Will re-sell your interests and details to all and sundry. Do NOT ANSWER!

They called my mobile (a number I keep fairly private). Said they were Ipsos/Mori wanting to do a survey and that they did not actually have my number, as it had been generated by their computer. Seemed surprised when I didn't want to answer. Registering with TPS will not stop calls from market researchers, as they are not governed by the rules. Annoying, though.

Had one of these yesterday from MORI.  Didn't want to know.  What was really annoying was that it was on my mobile, and had I been abroad (I wasn't) it would have cost ME money to find out who it was.  They should be banned from calling mobiles for this reason.

There is no law about not calling people after 8pm. But it usually isn't very productive.9pm is the normal close-down time.

- If you answer and tell them to stop they will. They are legally obliged to do so.
- If they do not a complaint can be made to OFCOM http://www.ofcom.org.uk/
- To the Information Commissioner's Office http://www.ico.gov.uk/
- and to the Market research Society http://www.mrs.org.uk/ 
- They will be fined a substantial sum of money.

Called me multiple times with slightly different stories, today's being market research, didnt let them get any further as I'm getting very annoyed and don't know how people are getting hold of my personal mobile number

Just missed a call from number did not recognise it so googled it  and found this website.

You can ask to be removed from there list by emailing them. This is an option they give in the "been contacted about a survey" link.
