number rang twice waking me up but no answer  then rang while working couldn't understand what they wanted

keep getting calls from this telephone number but no message left , i am registered with tps so why still getting calls.

I received a call from this number and I have no idea who this is from!!

They rang me on a Sunday when I was trying to watch cricket. There are few things more annoying.  I asked to be taken off their database but probably to no avail.

I just repeat everything they say in a patronising voice.. It's way more fun than hanging up

calls from this number all night long .........  no longer answer.

Received a call from them on the 28th, and now again today at 20:45. I accepted the call, just to hear a woman say "Hello?" Then quickly hang up. If they call again I'm going to pretend I'm a dinosaur.

We don't leave voicemails. Ever.

The TPS explicitly doesn't stop research organizations calling you, Mori helped set up the TPS...take a look at the terms and conditions before you sign up for something. They can't exclude those numbers because if everyone with TPS couldn't be called then they can't get a fully representative sample of the population.

You can't just say "don't call me again" again and hang up, to ensure you're never called again you have to give your details so you can be put on the DNC database. We're only lawfully obliged to never call you again if you let us put you on this database...

You're NOT ON a database, your number can be randomly generated at any time, if you don't want us to call again ask to be put on the Do Not Contact Database.

"I would tell them immediately that I was not interested, however it took 3 calls for them to do so.  I received 2 'silent' calls in the first instance.  It is also worth mentioning that the accent of the callers is so strong, it is often exceptionally difficult to decipher them in the first place."

You were probably called by the new South African call centre in that case...I can't speak for them, they should stop calling you if you say you're not interested but I've heard that those guys don't really give much of a damn and I'm not sure what the legal situation is when the call originates from another country.

Just an FYI to everyone though, if you're rude to the people calling you then they're far more likely to set the system to call you back at 9 AM or something, so you're only really screwing yourself over.

And furthermore just in case it wasn't completely clear yet, from the TPS FAQ:

"17. Will registering on the TPS stop market research calls?

No, market research calls are not covered in the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 therefore companies conducting these types of calls are still allowed to call a TPS registered number. If you do not want to receive such calls, inform the caller to remove your details from their call lists."
