I'm an optus pre-paider too, and ive been called so many times by this number. once last fri, once last sat and just then! totally sick of it but i've put my number on the do-not-call register... dont know if it'll stop it but im hoping....

Also Optus Prepaid...  Getting about 5 calls a week.  What worries me is they had my name.  Is Optus selling their database information?  And does anyone know if the telemarketers calling from outside Australia are obliged to adhere to the Do Not Call Register rules?

i just got called by this number but just cancelled the call on my mobile. This is the fourth time that they have called....its very frustrating to have these people calling all the time

I kept getting missed calls from 0281143800, told my sister about it and she said that she googled the same number and found this site. With this new knowledge at hand i was prepared for the next call. I got the call last night and got stuck into the girl before she could answer. Asked her where she was calling from, she replied "Optus outbound call centre", I said "Ok, from Sydney?" , the girl said yes, i asked exactly where, Nth Syd, Western Syd etc and she didn't have an answer. I informed the girl that nearly everyone has caught on that these calls are nuisance calls and then followed with some swear words. And yes, i too am an Optus prepaid customer.

I recieved a call from there and they told me they were from optus, I gave them my details but lost connection...
Not sure If I should be fishy but didnt want to change my prepaid account. Not sure if these guys are legit.
Should I be worried they have my details now?

They have called me everyday for the last week and a half, and I refuse to answer it!!! Something has to be done about them harrassing us!

Do they have call barring on mobiles in Australia?

copping this bs every couple of days. One time there was voicemail left that was just some background chatter...

yeah i got a missed call from this number AND from 08 8462 6444, within about 3 hours of each other.
obviously its a stupid scan
SIIIGH its annoying.

Got 2 missed calls from this number today.  No voicemail messages left.  Am pre-paid customer and will be ignoring future calls as am happy with current plan.  Also I am on the do not call register, so signing up to this won't help you.

I just had a call from this number too. I couldn't answer because i am at work, but it rang for my full cycle before my message bank picked it up. Im on prepaid too! Annoying!

I've been receiving calls from this number for the past week. Today they called twice. I've answered it about 3 times and the line stays silent for like 15 sec, so I hang up. I'm on the $49 cap!

I to have recieved calls from this number. Didnt answer though as i couldnt think where it was from. Got suspicious and googled it.Very surprised when i found all this info. Im also an optus pre paid customer. I am going to ring optus too ask them to bar the number.
