    I have been getting a call everyday for the last 9 days between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm.  I have never answered the phone as all people who have this number are stored in the phone.  It is getting really annoying.  It has only started happening since I recharged online at the optus site.  Normally I recharge at Woolies.  I wonder if it is a hacker.

    Just missed a call from this number, and googled, I'm with Optus, but not pre-paid, am on a capped plan, but not a 'compulsory one' (ie. I can 'quit' anytime)

    I too, keep getting the calls about twice a week, and am also on optus prepaid. arggg...why dont they get the message and not call again!

    Love this website, thanks to all the people who commented on this number. I just got a call from this same number, I picked up and i heard nothing but silence. I think they had my on mute...

    I'll be waiting again for this number so i can rip into them.

    re a previous post: maybe you're on to something there about only copping the calls after having commenced payment on the optus website as this is totally what has happened to me.

    I have had a missed call from this number twice in the last week, when you try and call it it says the network is busy. Seems pretty dodgy especially considering what everyone else has written. I am an Optus customer, however, on a plan - don't know if this means anything??

    I recieved this call too.... I also recieved some from a telstra (perth no.) the other day!

    I am on an optus plan..... not prepaid.

    Got called from this number for the first time yesterday. Had some woman with an accent start telling me that optus had some new deal i might be interested in. Ended up hanging up on her cause i was busy at work.

    For the record i am an Optus customer on a plan, and still have around 6 months to go on my contract. I've never had optus pre-paid.

    I received a call from this number today and again no message left and if it is about rate plans they are calling the wrong person as i am an optus pre-paid user and shouldn't be getting conntacted at all.

    Yes. Regular calls from this number in the afternoon/evening for past two weeks. And yes I too am Prepaid Optus user. This is so ridiculous; look how many people are involved, its a pathetic sales pitch, get stuffed Optus!

    guys I knew of a way to stop this. I've got my number registered on the 'Do Not Call' register (https://www.donotcall.gov.au/). While I received calls like these from telemarcketers, I head straight to the register and lodge a formal complaint there and have the ACMA deal with them directly.

    While you do so tho, make sure you have these details handy: time of call, name of the person who called, the calling number and also the matters that the caller wanted to talk to you about (the last one's optional and I didn't mine)

    Let's all do this and stop the annoying trend!

    I have just had a call from this number. I answered and it was silent. They hung up about 5 seconds into the conversation. I am with Optus, but im on a plan. Strange.

    Yesterday I pre ordered a game from a toy store and gave them my number. Today, I recieved this call at 12.01, luckily I was watching TV, so I didn't know about this. I thought this was from the toy store and tried to call it back.However, it appears to say "number busy" . When I looked this number up at the internet, i found this website, and saw that everybody else has been a victim of this crime ( probably ).

    Yeah, I'm an Optus user too, and I got this call for like an eternity. I got no other options besides looking it up in the internet when I'm bored, and found this board. Such an annoying number this is, I hope this caller goes to F""""ng Hell.

    I got a missed call from this number after 5pm, they didn't leave a message, am also an optus prepaid customer, and i also get constant sms's at all hours of the morning about recharging and changing rate palns etc. I AM DEFINATELY CHANGING NETWORKS.

    I got this call today. I answered it an they were on mute. The call dropped out after a few seconds and every time I have tried to call them back it says network busy. If it is someone telemarketing I will fly up there and belt them with their phone and shove it up their rectums.

    I have been receiving these calls regularly. As it happens I have never reached the phone before the call has been diverted. I just called their number and an answer message said this was a telemarketing Company working on behalf of Optus. It also said if I left my number they would remove me from their list which I did along with the message that I would regard future calls from them  as harrassment - I will see what happens from here.
