That program actually focussed on one or two specific claims management companies, neither of which were EMCAS. Unfortunately there are CMCs out there who do charge unfair fees and are not transparent about their charges, however, EMCAS are transparent about their fees in the initial phone call and also follow this up in writing afterwards. They do not charge upfront fees and are strictly no win, no fee.
EMCAS are actually in support of what Which & Money Expert are saying about CMCs which is why they're in the process of developing their own Code of Conduct. This has been discussed with Which, who visited our Exeter branch a few weeks ago, who are supporting EMCAS in this. This Code of Conduct would enforce other CMCs to conform to the same high standards EMCAS currently operate under, which would reduce the number of CMCs from somewhere in the region of 900 to just a few dozen, if that.

Whether this company is legit or not is not my problem ,it's the fact they've been ringing me for the last 18 months or more despite being told i'm not interested and to remove my number from their database but seems they just take no notice and continue to plague me with unwanted calls !!

This number has been calling for several weeks now but never has spoken. In fact the line seems dead as soon as I pick up the phone.

Numerous calls from this number but always hang up when I give my name.

Well if you had contacted the bank yourself which is pretty straightforward then you would've got the money back with out paying a company a fee for doing so so, well, other people can judge whether that's stupid or not.  These companies make money out of lazy people who can't be bothered to write a few letters themselves.  They will run out of steam soon as more and more people are becoming aware.

the only way the company can get your details even if you are TPS is through a survey which YOU would of filled out yourself stating that you have had some form of loan or c/c, dont want the call dont do the survey.

Three calls I've had today from these people and I've elected to not receive junk calls! I know they can't do much about calls from overseas but I shouldn't be getting these calls and who, y the way, gave them my number?  We're ex-directory as well.

I recieve them every day and about 10 times, spoke to them once and explained i was with a debt management company and they said they couldnt help me but alas they still keep calling me so i just dont answer.

I've been getting silent calls for some time from this number - sometimes more than one a day [probably using an automated dialler].  I've reported this to Ofcom today, via their website.  It seems Ofcom can fine / penalise firms that don't adhere to the correct procedures, if necessary.  I am fairly sure the way this firm has been using the system to call me is in breach of those requirements.....so hoping for success!  Just not sure if Ofcom has duristiction in Northern Ireland, as the calls originate from there, it seems.

Just had a call today from this number and I think we have had it before. They do claim to be able to get you some mo ney back against loans or credit cards. I told them to delete my number from their list

rings when you answer they hang up, calls made day and night they never talk to you

I just got a call from thiscompany telling the me that they had information that I had been misold ppi in the last 5 years...(I haven't).  The caller became very flustered when I asked her where she had this infro from. She said I had indicated this in a questionaire....I said no, I hadn't. She then gave lots of other flim-flam and I disagreed with every statement she made.  Finally she said it must be someone who lived here within the last 13 years who had been misold ppi.  When I said that I have owned this house for 25 years, she resorted to maybe I had a mortgage or had had one in the past. I told her  no, I won enough money playing roulette (with a lucky one dollar chip,)  to buy the house cash. I said  I actually live in Las Vegas now, was a professional gambler and this was my holiday home I think she realised I was enjoying running her around and she hung up....cant think why. Try it next time , tell them I lent you my lucky chip !!

This company keeps on ringing my home number, they will not leave us alone, and when we answer the phone they just keep on hanging up on me (par one time).

I have stated during a survey  that  I am registered with TPS & have also never ever had PPI  under no circumstances do I want to be contacte however this has been completely ignored these silent calls which are coming in at least 3 times a day   STOP IT NOW

Yes I keep getting these people calling and when I answer no one speaks so from now on I'm noy going to answer.
