none just silent call

received call on my dedicated fax line several times, usually number witheld but last time number available, idiots.

Also had call from unknown caller asking about sky box, which I don't have, sounds like the Asian man mentioned in other notes.

Just had a call from a asian bloke saying is my computer running slow.  He told me he was working for Windows and had received loads of error messages from my computer and he was going to help me get it fixed.  He then asked me to go to the computer open up manage and look at an event log which lists the errors.  He made extraordinary exclamation noises, not very good acting but not bad, then asked me to go to Google ............................. why?  just go to Google to type in teamviewer.  He wanted me to open teamviewer 5.  I am always suspicious about these things and asked him what benefit there was to him.  He didn't once fail in being calm and polite I asked him for a number I could call him back on once I had talked to my husband and hung up.  034009054 was the number he called from but not the number he gave me!  Luckily my Son was visiting me too and told me to hang up.

keeps calling and soon as answered puts phone down

Got call from this number this evening 6pm, knew my name and then said it was about my computer. I then asked for name of the Co. and given virtual pc department by this Asian sounding caller. Asked for the address of this company and their phone number and hey he suddenly hangs up.

Just had a call from this number but as soon as I answered, it disconnected. Don't know where they've got my details from as I am supposed to be ex-directory.

Who is it? Why do they keep calling and not answer when I pick receiver up?

just got call but when answered they hung up. Got this number from 1471. Having read other comments, wont be entering into any dialogue with them anyway!!

Just got home and they have called my home at 19.15hrs, thanks for all your help everyone about this.

I have received 3 calls this week, 1st I wasn't home, second call asian man wanting to do survey and was asking for too much info, I said I wasn't interested, he then passed me to his 'supervisor' who was very persistent, I just rang off.  The third call today at 13.29, I recognised the voice and reiterated that I was not interested and put the phone down, ten minutes later I tried to use my phone but could not get a line as he had obviously left the line open at his end, thereby disenabling my line. Eventually my line was restored.

I am now installing the caller display system on my phone.

Surely these people are commitig some form of offence and should be stopped.

I have been getting calls from 034009054 for quite a few days now.  When I pick up the phone no-one speaks.  I have been getting these calls maybe 4 times a day. Most annoying.

Asia guy phoned today to say my pc was runining slowly and wanted me to do some changes to the set up. Alarm bells rung and would not respond with the company name etc.  Also very rude! Unable to call the number back after dialling 1471.

Hello all again, I got another call from this number today at 15:10 who said he was calling to check my Sky box. I said I don't have any dealings with SKY and the foreign sounding person hung up. I wonder if I can get this number barred other than that will report it to SKY so there aware what's going on.

034009054 - I get regular calls from this number, I mean at least once a day, that's not counting the missed calls I get, they always ask for my ex, or Mrs Ex's surname who is non existant, I have told them on every occasion that he hasn't lived here for 3 years yet they still call for him!

Had a call from this number this morning, called me by my first name, all 'pally' 'Hey Sandie!', sounded like a foreign man adopting an american-type accent. When I asked who it was, he said that he was calling about my 'debt managment plan'! Which I don't have! Told him this was incorrect and that he had the wrong number and then hung up!!

This number phoned me today and said hello is that mr singh, in an asian accent, i thought right away this must be a sales call and said yes who are you , as didnt want to say no and them hang up without me knowin the callers identity, he said "i just need to ask you if you have sky television" i asked him to identify himself and the guy said he was ashwot, or ashran, and said he was phoning from sky, he asked me again if i had sky tv and i said who is mr singh is that you , he asked me if i knew mr singh, asked me what my name was , said its not mr singh and he hung up

i have the number on my phones call ID but when doing a 1471 have a message saying " sorry the last call was from a network which is unable to send numbers"

Had 3 calls in the space of an hour, each time they hung up, getting to be a pain now.

Another call from this number this evening at 17.40pm, asked for me by name, foreign accent. I said nothing after answering the phone and he hung up. I did complain to the Telephone Preference Service and got answer below, not very helpful so please all of you on here complain to them about this number and perhaps they might take some action if more of us complain.

You may already be aware that TPS does not have the facilities to know which companies are calling you and therefore relies on the complainant to ascertain this information upon the receipt of an unsolicited direct marketing call.

Despite our best efforts TPS has not been able to ascertain valid contact and/or address details to raise this particular complaint.

Although we have been unable to raise this complaint against the offending company we have logged and will include details of this complaint in our regular report sent to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) who are the government body responsible for enforcing the Privacy and Electronic (EC Directive) Communications Regulations 2003.

This will enable them to look at trends in complaints being made and where possible identify those organisations who are not complying with the regulations surrounding such calls. To complain about an unsolicited call made to a number registered with TPS please provide us with details of the call by completing a complaint form or by logging a complaint online at www.tpsonline.org.uk .

The least information required for us to be able to process a complaint will be the company name and/or telephone number and the date & time of the call with an explanation of the element of direct marketing involved in the call. Any additional information i.e. name of caller, company address will help us investigate the complaint.

Phone call today, got the number through "Choose to Refuse" service as 1471 Failed to provide details...

Asian Sounding bloke knew all my details, Full Name (inc Middle Name) Full Address and Postcode only lived here for 12 months... My alarm bells started to ring as soon as the Caller ID said "034009054" as it did not seem a geniune number.

Kept saying he could get me cheaper direct debit payments on my BT bill, told him not with BT and he kept asking who I was with... Told him he should know that if he was a geniune caller, kept asking for Bank Details which I refused to give him, he even kept polite when I was calling him a lier and he would not know the truth if it came a bit him...

Eventualy he said he was wanted by his brother and would have to call back, so I said not to bother as I was going to block his number, to which he replied that his number was hidden, I repeated his number as told him it might be a good idea that when scamming someone to hide his number better... He then started to ask how his number had been displayed so I told him Caller ID is different for calls routed through a PC owned by a Computer Engineer who has a Brother in Software development... he then put the phone down...
