Yes i get this call at least twice a day, i tried to call back many times and there is no answer, i called telstra and they confirmed it is a telemarketing centre and they couldn't tell me who but suggested i register with the governments 'do not call' website so i will, bloody annoying!!!!

Same scenario as others - received a call from 03 8416 1400 today. Missed the call and when I tried to ring back the line was busy.

I received a call from this number and they told me they were from AGL. I had recently filled out an online form with AGL, and I think I was stupid enough to click 'show all non secure items'. Luckily my phone cut out before they could get any details from me, and I rung AGL later that day, and they told me they hadn't even been sent my details yet. I rang the number back the next day, and I got the high pitched tone for 'not connected.' Do not trust a call from this number and definately do not give tham any personal details!!!
PS also don't be silly enough to fill out a form online without making sure it is secure first.

It's the Manilla call centre for Simply Energy.

Initially it cut out on me, I called back and couldn't connect, then they called back 15 mins later.

got called and they hung up after a few seconds i tried calling back but no answer for four ring and then it goes ingaged.

same here called me 4 times from 0384161400-no answer-yery quite!- i told them to [***] off am sick of them calling me stupid [***],then was hung up on lol.excuse the bad language

03 84161400 keeps calling me and hanging up!! 4 times monday, 3 times tuesday and 3 times today!!!

how do i block it!? or yell at bigpond? its it bigpond?

Just had a call from this number, and it was about a customer survey for Sony Australia and Playstation products.

i got a call today. they said they were AGL and asked me to confirm my address and stuff. i didnt give them anything and hung up. i thought it all seemed a bit odd. i felt bad later on for hanging up, but now i am glad i did.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's been recieving calls from this number. I tried to call the number back three times just before because they hung up when I answered, it rang for a few seconds but then went to a busy tone. I'm extremely sick of it

Yeah i just got a call too from this number called back engaged, DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR DETAILS OVER THE PHONE. I suspect this is a scam, contact your service provider and report this as an unwanted or nuisance call. This should help.

They told me they were AGL and had my details but later in the conversation it emerged he was from a COLLECTION COMPANY. They clearly lied several times insiting it was AGL. What's more they still rung me even after I had sorted the outstaning amount with AGL (it was their error).

I intend to take this further, it's got to be illegal somehow.

just got the call from this number didnt answer cause i didnt no it. i have msg bank but they left no message. just googled this number now im glad i didnt answer

ANswered the call and they hung up.  Very annoying when u have kids in care and need yur phone turned on in case of emergency.  3 x today and 2 yesterday.  I thought (03) was a melbourne number.

I just received one as well.  You'd think companies would be smart enough to investigate from time to time what people are saying about them on the Internet: if they actually did, maybe they'd change or at least block their bloody number.

Now have it saved under "Massive [***]".

just got a call fron 0384161400 it was tru energy chasing a gas account which I had paid, he did ask for my date of birth but as he knew the amount of the bill I asumed it was genuine.

Yes 03 8416 1400 has been calling me too. The first time I went to answer and as I pressed the button realized it was a company switchboard number and the time wasn't convenient for me to deal with any business. They keep ringing but I don't know the number and won't answer as I'm sick of companies believing they can call my mobile and expect me to give personal details or discuss my account or business with them without ascertaining first that it is convenient to do so - and this is supposedly from companies I have dealings with. If I receive a call regardless of whether I deal with the company I will not give any personal details as I cannot confirm that it is the company that I have dealings with. Identity theft was rife in London when I lived there some years ago and those that committed the crime would go to many lengths to gain the personal information of an unsuspecting victim. It has taken a while for it to fully reach Australia but guess what guys it's here and it's looking over your shoulder when you least expect it.

received 2 missed calls from this number today, one straight after the other.  Same scenario - tried to call it back and it rang a few times before a "BUSY" tone.  I read the info re. AGL - yet I'm not even with AGL.  Sounds like a scam to me!

I keep getting calls from this number but I never answer it cause I get panic attacks with unknown numbers.. I'm thankful I didn't now..

This number is for TRU energy debt collection services.  Interestingly they are following up accounts that are not yet payable!!!   Get you  house in order TRU energy.  I'm now off to shop for a better deal with another energy provider!
