calls and calls and calls only silence on the other end and never answers call back i never give my number out except to friends and family.... so no idea who it is

I was told it was AGL Energy Limited. We paid our bill 1 day late and it went to a debt collection agency?

Absolute garbage. Rubbish customer service and total greed merchants. They have no idea about maintaining integrity and customer management.

I suggest you all switch your energy providers to someone else. Any advice?

I get calls all the time from this number but do not answer.  I have received at least 25 calls from this number and have answered it in the past and it was bigpond!!

They called at 6:30pm tonight (03 8416 1400). I called straight back rang a few times and then cut me off 3 different times. It is pathetic if you ask me. If ya can't leave a message and you can't call them back then they should STOP CALLING PEOPLE ALL TOGETHER!! We do't have time for this [***]!!

Got this number called me again on Saturday morning  and I answered: he said he from ActewAGL, my gas account overdue, and he ask for my credit card to pay for it. otherwise they will stop supply.

Luck,I did not give to him because it's weekend, and actewAGL open only Monday to Friday.

I got a call from the same number.... i didnt get to it in time but the next day rang it back, thinking the 03 area is in victoria and could be from my sons who live there... but when i rang,  and rang 4 times, they kept hangin up... GOOOOOOOO FIGUREEEEEEE.   ANd anyway does anyone know exactly who the phone number belongs too???

i got a call from this number today..looked it up on google and it came up with this page..please everyone DO NOT GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE, EVER!! unless you have made the call yourselfto a legitamant company.

Missed a few calls, rang them back and it cuts off after approx 20 secs. answered the call tonight and it was AGL. just wanting to verify my bill amount. yet they give me a totally different amount then what was on my bill i received the other day that isn't due for 2 weeks. Very strange.

It is Australian Gas (AGL) overseas call centre (Philippines)  ringing about outstanding amounts on your gas/electricity bill

I used to get calls from this number all the time. Most times when I picked up no-one said anything. Always just silence on the other end. Very annoying. I tried to call it back, like most people here, and got a hang up.

I now have them marked on my phone as "DO NOT ANSWER".

In the past it was from an AGL collections agency. The truly ridiculous thing is that every time they called me and I actually got to speak to a person, not just silence and breathing, it was well after the bill had already been paid.

I've just had another hang up from them (this one on my home phone before I realised who it was) and all my bills are up to date, so I have no idea why they are calling now.

My only guess is that they have old information relating to bills. No idea, really.

This number came through on my mobile and when I called it back the call just kept dropping out after a few rings.
It is very possible that this is some sort of scam!

I just had a call trying to come through on my landline while I was on the phone to AGL. As soon as they hung up on that call, my mobile phone rang and this is the number that came up. Thought I'd google it before calling them back because I had no idea who it was.

Anyway, it's definitely AGL collections. I had a payment plan with them that I was short on in one of my installments so they cancelled the payment plan. I was on the phone to them to reinstate thatwhen I got a call from this number.

Definitely don't want to answer this number, if they call back, I'll just call AGL directly instead.

AGL, they left a voice message.

Its AGL I thought it was a scam as they were asking me for personal details on a bad phone connection with a heavy accent, I didn't give them any, so I rang AGL they said I hadn't paid my bill I never got as they some how didn't have my address correct. I suggest just calling AGL if you get a call from this number to be safe.

Had several calls with no message from 03 8416 1400, called back twice with hang up.
Googled the number and all this popped up.  I have an account with AGL  that is overdue but I have spoken with them.  All the comments above very true, thanks.
