Noticed phone number 07049210868 on my mobile bill.  Don't recognise it.
£2 for 6 sec and £2 for 18 secs.  Both the same day and same time according to my bill

another number to be aware of - same as everyone else "hello hello - can you hear me crackle on the line then dead line. glad i checked it out so never called back.

Unfortunately I only read this after I had called the number back - TWICE!  Oh well, you live and learn.  Same as before, "hello, hello, can you hear me?" then line goes dead.  When I called the number, it clicked straight on to an answer machine where a woman gives opening times (although doesn't say what for!) and then asks you to leave your name and number.  Thankfully I didn't leave details.  I  am awaiting delivery of a couple of parcels, so assumed it was the delivery guy trying to get in touch.  It was strange though, the woman's voice sounded Dundonian and I live in Dundee.  I suppose it's more reassuring for people to hear a familiar accent, they are more likely to leave details or try again.

I had a call from 07049 208379 back in March. Never heard anything more till today when I got in and found I'd missed a call from 07049 204805. Same people??? No idea but I wont be answering any calls from any number that starts with 07049 that's for sure!!! I am still ex directory so they either randomly dialled or someone somewhere has passed my number on. Grrrrrrrrrr

Had a funny phone call on Saturday 24th September 2011, did 1471 and found it was 07049 206259.  Couldn't identify it as anyone I know so put it in google.  It was a male voice just saying hello, hello and then the line went dead.

Have twice received a call from 07049 206067. Man's voice say's "hello... hello.... can you hear me" before going dead (crackly line). Obviously a ruse to get people to call back at great expense. Why can't the phone companies put a stop to this?!

The phone companies are making millions from the their share of the revenue from the billing of these 070 numbers.
It's the Regulators (Ofcom) job to put a stop to it but the truth is the Regulators are in the pockets of the Networks and Market place.

07049 204289 for me. It was the "Hello, hello, ..." version. I called back (once) and got the answerphone message. Thanks to everyone else for posting here. I'll take the hit now and be careful never to fall for the trick again.

07049204711 called me .. same 'hello, hello....' as it seems every1 gets. I did 1471 and found the number... called it back and paid, it seems, to get a silent line. Then I got string of calls for about 15mins from similar numbers. grumble.

Had the same call twice the latest one at 5:00pm today the number was 07049204751. it was the same thing as all the other posts with a male voice saying "hello hello can you hear me" then cutting of with a beep.

Had a call from 07049 204561. Woman's voice saying 'Hell, hello..". Then eventually an exapserated "Oh God" and line goes dead. Glad I googled it before calling it back.

Does anyone know how/who to complain to about this?

I had exactly the same message as Martin above at 3.05pm today - a woman 'hello, hello, hello, oh, GOD'

Hello I have had two calls from 07049 numbers one was that men everyones talking about says "hello, hello are you there?" then hangs up and anouther one from a women who says "hello? hello? hello? oh my god" she doesnt say oh my god in a way that somthing bads happened just a angry annoyed oh my god way , just posting to let people know.

Just had the number 07049 206805 with a women saying hello hello hello and then oh god and slamming the phone down so the same as the people above.

The usual hello hello hello call. The scam is complete when you call back and get charged extortionate rates.

Robbing scammers

Had call from 07049 204007, Lady saying "Hello", 3 times followed by "Oh for gods sake.", Then hang up.

When trying to call back it just gave me the dead line tone.

Same as above we just had a call from 07049206373 woman's voice kept saying Hello then the line went dead.

Same as the other posters - this was 07049 204803 and I had a female voice, London accent, going "hello, hello?" then "God" in an exasperated voice then hung up.
