Got a call from 07049208620.
The man kept saying 'hello' and then hung up.

received a call from 07049 202003 no one on the other end speaking?

I just had a call from 07049 208379  and like others, I have a mans voice just saying hello, hello, then the line went dead. It was a very dodgy line too, not clear at all, sounded as if he was ringing from a long way off. I'm ex directory so I'm wondering was it a chance call or does someone have my number ....?

Just had a similar odd call from 07049202537.  Male voice, well spoken "Hello, hello.." then nothing.  Quite faint. Any ideas?

Had a call from 07049201477, sounds same as the previous ones here, male voice well spoken says 'hello,hello' then the line goes dead. Very bad line as well. Havent called back, sounds dodgy.

Call shown as from 07049 202 856. No message. Would appear to be an attempt to get one to call back, as, after much searching, it appears that numbers beginning 070492 are charged at band 'pn7' - an unusual band in that there is both a fixed fee immediately on connection and a charge per minute. From a BT landline it would seem the fixed fee is 50.10p inc VAT; the per minute charges are then just a few pence.
So BEWARE - DONT CALL ANY NUMBER BEGINNING 070492 - You'll be putting 50p of your hardearned into the hands of scammers straight away! Unless, of course, you know who it is and feel it is worth paying that to talk to them - but I can't see any legitimate business or individual wanting a number where their customers or friends have to pay that!
NB: Other 07049 numbers are charged at different rates which aren't necessarily as bad and don't have the immediate fixed fee so could be legit; all the numbers here seem to be 070492 though.

Exactly the same as others, a man calls and says hello hello from a crackly line and then goes dead.  OBVIOUSLY A SCAM - WHY DON'T THESE PEOPLE GET A LIFE, THEY MAKE ME SICK, SPENDING THEIR DAYS TRYING TO CON MONEY FROM INNOCENT PEOPLE!!!

Kids thought it was grandparents. About to redial when I stopped them. Realised it's a scam.

07049209147 called, same thing hello hello, crackly line disconect.  I didnt call back as I didnt recognise the number I googled and found this page.  It's atrocious that BT has opened up another avenue for dodgy scammers.

This is a scam where you get a recorded phone call in with a man saying hello, hello then its cuts off. They want you to call back to earn them revenue. I did not as I am quite comms litterate,. Most perople would be caught out by this as it looks like a mobile number.

The number calling was: 07049202465

I have filed a complaint to http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk

These 070 numbers are not mobile numbers, they are a type of premium rate number.  Your Network take a share of your money before passing the rest on to the company that owns the numbers.  These types of fraud generate millions for the Networks.  That is why Ofcom turns a blind eye.

the above 'scam' appears to be organised fraud that 2communications Limited is profiting from.
