just had the same call from 07049210768, "hello hello" and like a fool I did 14713 and got the message about office hours and it cuts off just before the girls says who the company is!! but I did call TELEXL and got Brian Holmes from complaints and he said it was one of their numbers and was apologetic and would look into the company that was using that number and to phone him if it happened again! oh! and it costs 50p per min from a land line if you call it back. I'm a plumber and I work for my money, I do not charge crazy prices because I have the same customers all the time. I can sleep at night, isnt it a sad world that big companys resort to this sort of underhand business?

Same as most people on here - "hello, hello, can u hear me" then line goes dead. I think its disgusting that phone companies dont put a stop to scams like these & what annoys me more, is my number is witheld.

Same here, my number is ex directory but were inundated with withheld, private number, international number or unknown number, we never answer if the number is witheld, thats why I answered this 070 number. there's some sordid creepy people in high places turning a blind eye but accepting payments and they think to say "I didnt know it was happening" is acceptable, the day is coming!

"Hello, hello can you hear me?".....disconnect.

As long as people record the numbers here, we increase the chances of someone finding a hit when googling and nor returning the call.

Got same call today from what I thought was a mobile : 07049 205796

again someone saying 'hello hello' + line went dead

And yes, I rang 14713 to get a 'this line is not avilable' message - looks like I've been had too

Call from 07049205114, said "hello, hello. can you hear me?" Then a voice said "this service is unavailable, please try later"........This is a premium rate number - if you call back you will be charged.

07049205178 rang. Man saying "can you hear me. Can you hear me" Then 'phone went dead. Stupidly rang back before checking on www. Will find out the cost in 24hrs. Am fuming with myself.

Just had a call from 07049205527  

A man (elderly?) saying "Hello, hello... can you hear me?"  When  I tried to repy "Yes", a female (operator?) broke in saying "This service is not available".

Luckily, I already know that 070 numbers are premium private numbers, and so didn't ring back.

07049 210033 is a scam. Don't call it.

Had a call from 07049 210547. Male voice saying hello repeatedly then line went dead

just had the same scenario ,male voice asking if i could hear him and then cut off 07049205657...check before you call as you get a compnay at the other end

Just got a call from 07049205651 on my land line and i am  ex directory as well ........mans voice..... sounded well spoken ..all he said to me was hello !!! hello!!! can you hear me!!!!! .. then the line went dead..so i goggled the number and found this page thx ...... logged the number in my phone contacts-list under the heading SCAM SCAM SCAM to avoid picking the phone up  if he calls again...... then deleted the number from my call list....he needs to get up a bit earlier to catch me out!!!!....so beware if you see this number come up !!!!!

I received a call from 07049 205000.

It was a man who repeatedly said 'Hello' and 'Can You hear me' then the line went dead.

I suspect it was a call back scam.

Got a new one, this is the SECOND time I've had this call. The first time I thought it was an actual person but didn't recognise the number so never returned the call. second time - exact same "hello? hello can you hear me?" message so googled and low and behold.. here's the number they tried on 07049205913

This was to a landline too, if that's any use?

Wife just took call from 07049 205 649. Well spoken man kept saying "Hello, Can You Hear Me "? Poor line then went dead. Glad I checked on here . Scammy dodgers !!

Just had a call from 07049 210953.  I called back (obviously the wrong thing to do) and got an answer machine.  I googled the number and found this site.  I have obviously been 'scammed' too.  Can they do anything else other than lift a premium call cost from you?
