Report a phone call from 08000191773 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- AdrianVery persistent, called me every other day for a week and a half asking to discuss my Debenhams Store Card. I finally told them I wasn't busy and they asked me for my name and post code to confirm my identity. I asked them how I could know they were who they said they were, and they said they couldn't talk to me about anything until I gave them my information. I suggested they don't both calling back and we leave it at that. Before I'd finished my sentence the guy had hung up on me. Is this a scam number, or are they just rude?
- julie from hedoni let my answer machine answer all my phone calls stating if you are a telesales company of call centre you have just wasted your phonecall and yet still they ring, must be costing them a packet.
- JillI am ex directory but receive calls daily from this number
- GemmaI've been receiving calls from this number on my mobile for 2 weeks now, on a daily basis. I picked up today and it just went dead. Is there anyway to stop this? Can my mobile service provider block them?
- DaverI recieved a silent call and a silent answer phone message from this number earlier. We're on TPS, so it doesnt work very well. How else do you stop these calls?
- DaveI received my first phone call from this number about an hour ago only to find a dead line when I picked up the phone. I dialled 1471 and was given 08000191773.
I typed the number in Google and found this website. Reading the posts, it appears they got my number from the Virgin Credit Card I applied for last week.
Just sent an e-mail to info@virginmoney.com complaining. They are the ones I gave my info to (where I ticked I only wanted to be contacted by e-mail), and they are the ones I'm even more p'd off at then Stellar since they are the ones who passed on my details. - anonJohn Smith from Natwest called and asked for me specifically, to offer me £500,000 worth of loan protection or something.
I said i'm not interested and hung up. - swisssteveAt least 10 missed calls a day from this UK number and we don't even live in the same country! Who are they?
- Anonymphones every day only rings once or twice yet when you answer there is nobody there.
- Melis08000191773 Called me todya and hung up.... Call last 2secs.... Odd!
- Mrs N CroftYet again the phone has rung and there is no-one there - just a click from someone hanging up after a few seconds. I have subscribed to TPS service.
- BobHi there, I used to work in Excell as it was called (now Stellar) and came across this page somehow and would like to explain to people how things work, just to give people an idea why these things happen like people called 5 times a day etc.
Excell is a 3rd party centre and they call on behalf of other places like abbey etc, so we just make the calls for them, abbey, llyods or whoever pass ur details onto excell and they fone for them coz abbey etc dont have enough people at their own centres, so they have to branch out. So the people in excell, please dont blame them, they're just doing their job. Its abbey etc you want to blame for this. They are the ones who send out the dialling lists. Its not like the called sits there with a fone and dials in numbers constantly. When you finish a call you have a number of options on how to end the call. So if someone says they dont want to be called, we would hit 'Do Not Call.' However, due to the system and sometimes lack of dialling lists from abbey etc we have to re-dial numbers regardless of how many times we call. So the system puts those numbers back through which unfortunately means you can get called again even if you have said please dont call. So again, please dont blame the caller, they have no control over this. Ask to speak to a manager, that may resolve it. The system uses an ADS (Automatic Dialling System). So it just constantly dials numbers, and sometimes there arent actually enough people on the phones to take those calls, so thats why when u pick it up theres no one there. All of these issues are out of the actual callers reach, so please please dont blame the caller, speaking from experience we know that its frustraing/annoying for you guys, but its the same for us, we dont want to be out there calling people who have been called 10 times already. So all i would say is if you have any issues please just ask to speak to a manager, they mite be able to do something for you. By just hanging up the fone or being insulting will do nothing at all im afraid.
With regards as to whether or not to take calls from them i would. The offers they have are genuine and usually very good. If ur unsure, again ask to speak to a line manager and when u do explain ur unsure and you'd like to call their direct number. That way you can call in and u have some form of reference.
I hope this is of some help!

- MikeI get the call from Stellar 08000191773 at about lunchtime every day. It's annoying so maybe their management should look at the ring cut off time. It's too short- or maybe employ more staff to keep up with the autodialler.
Ah! but then there's a recession and what with staff cut-backs and everything........- Caller: Stellar
