    Received call on both landline and mobile within 1 minute (not sure how they got hold of my mobile number!). Have caller ID set up on landline so answered neither. They failed to respond to my automated message.  Will let you know if they pester again.

    Stellar are apparently now acting as agents for Lloyds Banking Group in respect of the closure of Cheltenham & Gloucester High Street branches.  Their function is to offer advice to C&G customers and savers, but they do not have full personal and account details. The 1471 caller service records the calling number as 01294 379000, which is a call Centre at 4 Symington Place, Riverside Business Park, Irvine, Ayrshire. KA11 5DE
    Anyone receiving unsolicited calls from this source is advised to exercise due caution if asked to supply personal or customer account details, as Stellar staff are only agents, and not employees of C&G or Lloyds Banking Group.

    told them i couldnt care who they were calling on behalf of, if the banks wants me for something they will gladly send me a letter as they allways do!

    I work for stellar, the only reason you people are being called is because you didnt tick the box that says you dont want your information passed to 3rd parties
    and we never ask for any personal finacial details.
    and anyway dont forget, these people are doing their damn job, ever think of that???

    got several silent calls from 08000445260, when I rang back it basically said -

    "you were unavailable - we do not need to talk to you now because we will call you again. if you do not want us to call you ring 08445443501"

    So I took to ringing the call centre on 01294225300 and saying -
    "You are unavailable and I do not wish to talk to you. please call me back on 0844544350".

    I heartily recommend it. The only way to improve this would be to ring the managing directer/ceo at home with similar tidings.

    PS. Would texting them result in a phone call delivering them a text message in a robot voice do you think?

    A woman with Scottish accent called at 9:20pm.  She asked for me by name but refused to identify herself, or her company, or what she was calling about.  (No bonafide company would do this).  She claimed that the Data Protection Act prevented her from giving this information - which is untrue.
    When i checked the number she was phoning from i discovered that it was for a company called "Stellar UK".  Apparently this company specializes in cold calling on the behalf of finance and credit card firms.

    Strange thing is that i don't live in UK and she was phoning *very* ling distance

    Maybe you should look for a job that doesn't involve wasting peoples time & causing anxiety to those who aren't used to this sort of treatment. If you feel the urge to waste peoples time, do what I do & keep cold callers on the line as long as possible.
    I ask others to do the same as it is the only way I see to combat these pariahs. Its very easy you can start by asking them to hold the line whilst you, answer the door, pull the car over, turn off the tap or oven even climb down the ladder. Its fun, treat it as a challenge & see how much time you can log up.

    well "Abby" I always tick that box, but disreputable firms often pass on details to 'agents' to phone on their behalf anyway because they  they think doesn't count as a 3rd party.
    Then these 'agents' or "!@£$!!!*" as I like to call them, bombard you night and day with silent calls.
    I do think of these people and wonder what they must think of themselves. Is your mother proud of what you do for a living? Or is she secretly ashamed of you.
