Calls from this number is unwanted. It usually hangs up when the phone is answered

Had this number call me today.  when I picked the phone up there was just silence.  If I had checked my caller display first I would not have answered as I am always suspicious of these calls.  

I am X-directory and with the TPS and have had similar numbers ring before.

I would like to thank the above perosn under the name of Sukirowe for issuing Stella Uk's number.  I have also been getting calls from them that I do not want.  Contacted them today and spoke with Gayle who assured me that my number would be removed.

I am registered with BT preference service and I am not happy about receiving calls and when you say you are registered with BT instead of the person apologising the phone is just put down.  I find this very rude and unacceptable.

we are getting silent calls from this number too even though we are also ex directory and registered with TPS a while ago.  the annoying thing is even if you hang up, then pick up again the 'silence' is still there, so they're blocking our phone line too.

Had a call from 08000191773 today - said they were Capital Connect calling on behalf of Barclays.  Then the woman asked me for personal details "for security reasons" before telling me what they'd called about. I refused, said I wasn't interested and that if I wanted anything I'd call them.

I get five to ten calls a day, they only started about a week ago, they are all hours and they never leave a message.  How do I stop them calling me other than changing my number, it's my mobile number that they are calling???

Twice so far... rings and then no-one on the end. I have recently been accepted for a Virgin CCard so I think it may be related..it is annoying already

Got a call from this number. Answered it, and no one spoke. They just hung up!

I never get cold calls, but since applying for a Virgin CC last Friday I have had two.  One from this 08000191773 number an another from some scam about viruses on my PC (said he'd been asked to call by my ISP's service dept - when I asked which ISP he said 'Either Virgin, Sky or BT')

When I applied for the CC I noticed that there were two boxes to tick about contacting/passing on details.  I always refuse these but just after I clicked 'OK' I noticed that one of the boxes said 'tick if you WANT TO recieve marketing'  the other said 'Untick if you DON'T WANT TO'  of course, I and I suspect most people mis-read ths and inadvertantly give permission for your details to be passed on.

Received a call from this number - in connection with an MBNA credit card - asking if I wanted some sort of upgrade. Phone was passed to wife who deals with this who immediately became suspicious. She hung up, somewhat irate.

I called: 01294 225 300 and spoke to a lady called Rebecca. She was very nice and advised me she would remove all my details from their list. She advised this would take place within 48 hours (probably to cover any further calls). She also advised me to contact MBNA to ensure my details are no longer passed for any telemarketing. She knew the cause of my problem immediately, didn't ask me for any details (apart from my landline number), and was quite empathetic.

She explained the whole MBNA sales thing also. I suggest everyone gives this number a call (01294 225 300), and have your details removed.

It's annoying. I phoned the company who owns this range of 0800 numbers (Tel: 01294 225300). They've assured me they will look into this and make sure my number is taken off the list within 24hrs. Let's see.

I have had repeated hangup calls from this number, however today they spoke to me and claimed to be from MBNA, told me I had a certain type of credit card with them plus what my credit limit was, then started to ask the security questions. At this point I said I don't give that information over the phone but if they wished to write to me then I would be pleased to answer. They then politely hungup. I then phoned customer services at MBNA UK and told them about this and that I was not happy about another company ie: Excel Contact Centres in Irvine Ayreshire having my account details, they put me through to their security dept and they confirmed that they use Excel as a telemarketing arm. However they did offer to stop the calls to my number and were very polite and helpful, they have also stopped my card and are sending me a new one this week. Always check out fully anyone asking for credit card details over the phone. In this case it came to a successful conclusion.

I'm getting 3 calls a day from this number.  Reported it to BT, thet told me the company is called Stellar UK.  Checked them out, their actual nunber is 01294 225 300.  I sugest you call this number - and say nothing.  Then do it again, and again, and again.....
Probably wont stop the calls, but at least you get your own back!  You can 141 it to hide your own number.

I had a call from this number today.  I believe that cold calling firms use an electronic calling system that calls more numbers then they have operators to answer.  This allows them to make best use of their operators time but annoys the hell out of everyone else that is left hanging on the line.
One thing to do, if you are able, is to leave the phone connected when they ring and run up theirs costs.

Had a call from this number today. Didn't pick it up, as we have a strict policy of never answering 0800-type calls.

My girlfriend was receiving several calls from the 08000191773 number, she called 01294 225300 and after asking for her details to be removed, she was assured they would be in 36 hours.  Person she spoke with said it was something to do with NatWest or Littlewoods.  Also spoke to Stella.

bunch of [***] if u ask me,anyone who rings then doesnt leave a message obviously not important enough to bother ringing back! rings when im driving so never gets answered anyway!

this number calls me twice a ady .. no idea who are they,,. couldnot believe who does the boring job...
really want to say. hi mate ,life is too short can u do some thing more interesting...
