If I get a call from this number or indeed any 0800 or 0870 number I just ignore it. My phone is my work so I know instantly that these numbers are not ringing for my services but are trying to pedal thier own. Just ignore them, dont let it eat at you! Be safe in the knowledge that you have a job that is probably rewarding, these people do not, unless you give in and then they got you!

    Very Annoying
This is a company who selling the insurance to protect your properties bla bla bla. I've been received a call a month ago who he said my phone number given by someone ( my ex-housemate's, [***]) she is wink me up a bit. I've told the guy not to call me again, however he hangs up my phone before I've finished my sentences.

Yesterday,I've been calling by this annoying numbers 4 times, morning, afternoon, evening and even 20:29 night time???? How ridiculous!!!!!!

This morning eleven somethings, again, and I told him I'm not interested and stopped calling me again, he is same thing, not listen my words and hang up. RUDE.........

I've tried to call my mobile network company to block their number, they said they can't blocked anything unless go for the mobile brand itself to sort out the technical thing. I rang to the mobile brand, it said' has nothing to do with them'.

Sigh, what is the world business services????

What you can do after answering: If you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialled the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer!!!

(This information was in an e-mail I received with lots of other ?good information!)

    THIS  is the e-mail!
    REVENGE ON THE TELEMARKETER

    Three Little Words That Work!!

    (1) The three little words: 'Hold On, Please...'
Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off ( instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consu ming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt.

Then when you eventually hear BT's 'beep-beep-beep' tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset .... you have efficiently completed your task.

These three little words could help eliminate telephone soliciting.

    (2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone
calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.

This technique is then used to determine the best time of day for a
'real' salesperson to call back and get someone at home.

3: When you get those 'pre-approved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope.

Most of these come with postage-prepaid return envelopes, right?

It costs them more than the regular postage 'IF' and when they are returned. It costs them nothing if you throw them away! In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-prepaid return envelopes.

Send an advert for your local chimney sweeper to American Express ... they might need one!
Send a pizza coupon to HSBC ... in case their canteen packs up. You get the idea.

If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them back their blank application form ... after all, it is their form!

If you want to remain anonymous, just make su re your name isn't on anything you return.

You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them, and it is their envelope after all ... you are just returning it!!!!

The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the post, but folks ..... we need to OVERWHELM them, in order to stop them.

Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail,
and best of all they're paying for it ... Twice!

Let's help keep Royal Mail busy. Since the Royal Mail are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, let's help them so they will not need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea!

If enough people follow these tips, it will work ---- maybe you'll get very little junk mail anymore.

THIS JUST MIGHT BE ONE E-MAIL THAT YOU WILL WANT TO FORWARD TO YOUR FRIENDS!!!!!!!

Hey Bridget, if u read my previous comments on the last page u'll know i used to work at excell/stellar, so reading ur email u got i just want to relpy and let u know wot wont and will work with it.

Point 1 - doing this will do nothing, if anything ur helping the agent, by walking away ur keeping their 'talk time' up, which is good for their stats, so when their line manager looks at their stats, they see they have a massive amount of talk time which is good, so they r more likely to get bonus thanks to u! Secondly with this, by saying, just hold on...ur giving the agent the chance to hit call back, all they'll do is sit there, build up their call time, and if they decide they want another call, then they just hit call back and again, this is good, it doesnt hurt their stats in the slightest, so this im afraid wont work, plus ur pretty much giving the person on the line a 10 min break! lol

point 2 - i cant say for sure, but it sounds a good theory with regards getting a time when u normally pick up the fone, so it feels out when would be best to call, this is possible, but i doubt hitting # 6 times or so will work im afraid

point 3 - this u could go for, but ur not costing anyone any money really, theres people opening these letters regardless, if they open it and see theres nothing there, it'll more than likely get binned, so its no sweat off their chest, its not like they're losing money by putting it in the bin for u

Been getting around 4-5 silent calls per day from this number.

Looking back to page 4 or 5 on this site I notice someone stopped the number by calling the company direct on 01294 225300

Just called 01294 225300 - a pleasant woman answered on a normal phone (you could hear it pick up) "Stellar UK" I then asked "Can I be removed from your calling list?" she said "Of course you can.. whats your number?" I handed my number over and she said I would never receive a call again :)

They were very nice about it and said I would get no more calls.

    took me about 20 seconds.

Hopefully now I will get some peace

I suggest everyone else does the same until they get the message

Hi - I get these and did some investigation..

ok, this is how it works, these telephone marketing companies try and build up a profile of who is at home and at what time of day (based on whether the silent call is answered or not...thats why it hangs up after you have answered)....the system then builds a database of who is in at what time and then a list of telephone numbers that are cross referenced to times of day is produced for the real people to pick up and call, depending on what time they are making the calls...

how low can they go.....surely this is harrasment???

If this is really getting you down try complaining direct. Just think of all those people that don't have internet and therefore can not find out the info on the messages above. It must be frightening to some of the people living alone.

phoning them direct on 01294225336 seems to work - maybe that is the return number they should quote to get removed from the list. They are getting our information from somewhere and it is worrying that they do.
