phoned, asked my name and hung up

Asked for Luke something-or-other (can't remember what surname they said). Told them they had the wrong number and they hung up.

This is the department for work and pensions, i just called it back and got the recorded message

this number has rung me now about seven times. they either hang up immediately or there is nobody on the line and it stays connected for a good minute or two.

Yep this is the department of work and pensions and although I have answered six times now there is never anybody there. Another great Government service. Incidentally, don't bother ringing them back as you just get another friendly answer machine telling you they will ring you.

this number keeps ringing me, its rang me twice today, and 5 times on friday, i dont answer, because i aint very good at talking on the phone for a start, but if i ignore them they might get the message, all i can think its some sort of marketing company!

Mum answered and asked to speak to me but I was out. Wouldnt give my mum any information.

I know however its the DWP/Job Centre Plus regarding job seekers allowance.

I answered them and the asked for me then hung up they have incompetant staff who obviously have no idea how to speak to customers on the phone and bottle out Sort it out u idiots

Its the Job Centre claims dept calling you back as you must have requested a claim.

Just rung my work phone asking for mr valentino is deffo the DWP but are they just picking random numbers from the yellow pages and hoping to get the right guy???????

It is the department of work and pensions, they call when a claim for benefits, income support etc. is made, and that phone number used as preferred contact.
If they have the wrong number, when you answer simply tell them that and they'll stop hassaling,
otherwise they'll keep calling

DWP are not allowed to talk to anybody that isn't the person they called for, unless they have had prior vocal consent.
