Genuine call from DWP regarding the refunds due to people erroneously being given ESA contribution based instead of ESA income related.

Called this afternoon on our landline and rang for a full 15 minutes . I never answered and when i then phoned 1471 it gave the said  number. My wife and i are both pensioners in our seventies, and do not claim ANY  benefits ,  nor are we looking for work ( ha ha ) so I don't know why DWP claims dept. would be phoning either of us , mmmh ?

Rang up this morning but did not proceed through BT call blocking service. They simply have to state who they are so it can be answered. Unsure why they are phoning as no new recent claims or changes.

Hi can any one tell me if that number is a fake reall as I've had a fone call but the did not get a chance I'm deaf told them to [***] Off and leave me alone so I don't know if I'm in [***] trees.

This is a genuine call from the DWP, so please everyone stop the paranoia and just answer the call, they don't bite lol.

i received a call just now at 15,30,on a sunday,i have blocked the number.i am not discussing personal things,about me,to a number,which seems suspicious,as the oher replies,said its a scam,and not official,i will see if i get a letter.i will not give any personal info on my telephone,and i will take this as a scam,as the person,has looked into this number,

Missed call. Called back. Message stated in the "DWP ladies voice" this is the DWP Don't worry we will call you back later.

I answered and said hello several times but they hung up without speakingj

i phoned the DWP they said the 08000232635 num is def not a dwp number

It's not a scam! It's Universal Credits number. (DWP)

They said they’re the DWP, they had tried to call twice, couldn’t contact me so they’d send me a letter.
. I rang DWP on a number I know is their number, there weren’t any notes on my account and the DWP didn’t recognise the number.
I did receive a letter a few days after the call. Very Odd.

Did you receive the form or not?

I had 2 in very quick succession , I am waiting for answers regarding a backdated u c award but nobody mentioned a call back.They only call 3 times in a day maximum and can’t leave voicemail telling you who they are either.

Had this number ring me but I missed it, I am waiting for a call about a complaint I made about a dwp worker and also waiting for dla to let me know if they are backdating it to August this year

Scam call, asking for money. Claims to be dwp but didn't follow any user verification. Then kept ringing even when told not to.

Don't think this is genuine. I applied for UC had 5 missed calls in the space of 5 mins. I specifically asked them for email and text only and the interaction on email and text has been really good. I won't be answering this number!!
