Got a call at 8.39 am during lockdown. The guy was an idiot trying to be funny.He said this is Danny from the Irish Universal Credit. Wanted to ask questions .I was in my bed and he said he would phone back later.He never did.

If you ring the number there will be an automated message from the DWP saying they'll call you back. So not a scam.

It's a valid DWP number, but like everything, it may be spoofed by fraudsters.
The DWP will verify by giving the password you gave them.

hello id like to know why when i signed on last friday why i have just come back from my voluntery job to see a miss call from this number in question when i was also told that my next appointment is 17/06.

Usually the case that, if a number of people report a fault, like DWP 'face-to-face' are not aware of contact by 08000232635, that it will be fake.
Think DWP usually text also if necessary!!!

i got a missed call from this number and 10 mins before a call from this number 07397323620, this number phoned me also, but i put this through the same check on this site and it came up with nothing. i havent been paid 6 weeks of benifits or 6 weeks of rent, beacause the government changed me from ESA to universal crdit and the government have lost the money and im [***]. im gonn abe evicted coz i owe 6 weeks rent and i have no money for food or bills. i made a complaint yesterday about this money issue where the government lied to me saying they will take care of my rent during this change over and that my benifits will be backdated as i would have to pay for food and bills... Has anyone had that other number come up? also beawre that the council dont record all of their calls. so make sure u record ur calls so u can use them againt them in court. also get glasses with cameras on to record any unethical treatment.
