Just had a call from this number on the landline. Me: "Hello". Her: "Oh I've dialled the wrong number" and hung up! No apology or anything! How could she tell she had the wrong number when I didn't even give my name?!

I gather from other comments that these calls may be regarding my application for income support. However, I specifically stated that I was unavailable on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and would prefer to be contacted PM. They keep calling me on the days I am unavailable from 8:30 - 10am. Unbelievable. 6 missed calls so far.

I had calls on landline and mobile from this when i answered the line sounded funny and eventually hung up....my mum answered and a man was asking for me but when i answer he waint speak to me

The number for dwp is related 2 p I p if U ring were U went for pip medical they will put U through 2 department, wth my epilepsy I have fits in sleep & they now put me on E S A  for 2 years, saying in future I will b able 2work but if keep having fits I dont think so

Well I have an existing claim as single mum to 4 kids I haven't made a new claim and have been rung 5 times today and j don't know why as I missed each call tried to call Bk got a message saying we will try again

Just rang me now, I answered and they didn't say anything! And then they hung up! Charming..

I do not want them to stop calling me as I am waiting to hear from them about my Universal Credit appointment date and time. But the chap did hang up after he had said hello.

This number rung me today. I said I would not give information over the phone and to put this in a letter. Person on the phone said I can send a form but will take you longer and better to over the phone. I said no and ask for it to be sent. The person on the phone had a huff and sigh. Think you should be given all  options first and not to feel pressure to give personal info over the phone. I've since been to the job center and they was not aware of the number or what it was trying to find out

I guess it was the DWP, but my phone went off for 10 seconds and I had to run to pick it up but I was too late. Why only wait 10 seconds? I really need them to call back because my JSA hasn't been paid in 3 months. Will they call back or do I have to call them?

I've not signed on for 4/5 years, so don't know what they want with me!

I'm swerving the calls, I'm sure if they're chasing any moolah, they'd send me a snotty letter in the post quick smart, I've had no letter yet, so they're getting nowt!

Sick of getting these calls, I've asked for my number to be deleted over and over but they won't listen. I'm deaf, they know I'm deaf but still call anyway.

I've taken to just chanting "I am deaf send a letter" until they hang up, it's not like I can cure myself just to suit other people.

Called about 4.30; I didn't answer.  I never answer 08000 numbers as they have always proved to be scam-lines or telemarketers (although the difference between the two is paper-thin).  I always check numbers out on this site (which is a God-send) to see what pond-life is currently hassling me.  I obviously discovered a near consensus here that this is the DWP, who I was expecting a call from.  So I made a note of the number and felt more confident to answer a subsequent call from the same at about 5.00.  A very polite lady asked my name (but no other details), which I confirmed, and she had ably (and swiftly) resolved my query.  My sympathies for all the vulnerable people here, but I fear that the real s**t-storm is yet to happen...the inevitable death-throws of the Occident.

They contacted not only myself but also the council that my benefits had been stopped, being a national who requires these benefits legitimately, I was put under stress that I really do not need. I feel that this is personal and I'm very upset.

They rang in lesson and at night didn't pick up tho
