- DJPhone and told me I had to attend an appointment at the DHS office. Walked down there (40 mins) No one knew about an appointment. had to then walk home. Snow on the ground today so not pleasant. Waste of time as well!
Said his name was Graham Jackson. No one at the job centre had heard of him - Druid611| 1 replyHad to answer as the DWP wrote and told me to expect a phone call. When I said hello they just hung up on me, next time I'll answer the phone when I feel like it and not when it suits them, already getting too many calls about PPI, loans, free insulation etc., without me trying to work out if it's from DWP.
It seems that everytime you answer the scam artists, they put you on a list to let others know that you'll answer the phone!, leading to even more callers. - wise old owl replies to Druid611yes I got a phone call yesterday from the dwp on this number. I was expecting the call after receiving a letter last week saying I would be called about the change over in the benefits system. Basically they ask you to confirm your name address & phone number & what benefits you are on. Then theytell you about the changes and read out all the do's and don't literature that came with your letter ie: do fill in questionaire when it arrives, and what will happen if you don't fill it in or attend for a possible medical. they will then ask you if you have any questions then tell you to expect your questionaire in the post within two weeks, and that's it! no point in trying to avoid them, they will catch you up in the end!
- agree replies to Mr TI totally agree,I was expecting a call from dwp as i'd had a letter before hand and about a week later I got the call, there was no silence at the end of the phone and the person spoke straight away. I think there is a general paranoia about getting calls from the dwp, it seems to set some people off into a frezy, either that or they just have anger management issuei'
- dave bim expecting a call from the dwp on an 0845 number, this number has rang twice today but i ignored it as i dont recognise the number, no message left
- unemployedIts the DWP, for sure.! They're calling folk on long term illness benefits like incapacity. As these benefits are being replaced by Employment Suitability Allowance (or something like that) if your number is up,your number is up !! They will find you !!

- auntie scam| 1 replyBEWARE! scammers have infiltrated this site. the people claiming that this number is dwp are probably scammers supporting this number. even if this is the dwp's number, it does not stop scammers spoofing the number. any legitimate company/government agency will NOT ask for personal details (NI number, name and address) over the phone, they will write to you, you will not lose your benefit. think about it, if they leave a message, they would give you an alternative number to contact them. to the scammers - I will Not answer your call nor retrieve your empty voicemail, instead I will wait for the postman!!
- M defriezRang me twice & didn't say anything just hung up when I answered.

- TitusPhoned, I didn't pick up. Left no message.
- Caller: Did not identify.
- Titus replies to auntie scamYou're a scammer. It may be the DWP, it may not. Since I've been expecting the DWP to call, most likely it is them.
- IanThis is indeed DWP, I advertised a job vacancy on Universal Job match and they called me as there were a couple of issues with it.
I also experienced the number calling without anyone being on the other end. When it eventually did work the first thing the person said to me was 'Why do you keep putting the phone down on me?!' I couldn't believe it!
I told them that I hadn't and that indeed there are other reports of people getting called with no one being on the other end.
Anyway, it seems they will persist so answer as it will work at some point.- Caller: DWP
- Call type: Non-profit organization

- Becareful replies to Mr TI know someone who's hearing has been permanently affected by such stupidity. It is actually a criminal offence of assault to use a whistle in this way. You may be arrested if the police trace your number.
