Report a phone call from 08000285085 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- GabeI have been called twice today by this number, however the ´phone rings just three times and thus rang off before I couls answer it.
- NickI have been called 4 times this morning by this number. In the end I switched my phone off, turned it on an hour later haven't heard a thing. Hopefully I never will. I'm on pay as you go with O2, have checked my ballance and it hasn't changed.
- AlexI had a call from these people just now I googled this blog quickly before picking it up. It was from BT billing and it WAS legit.
- Caller: BT
- AndyBeen having calls from this number last few days and ignored it. Today it rang and the wife answered not knowing, she passed it over to me and said it was BT.
The call was to let me know that I can now get free evening calls on top of the free weekend calls I already get, I just need to formally accept as it requires a 12 month contract. No bank details or account details were taken and they will send out a confirmation pack. We'll see what that brings.
So it looks like it is a genuine BT number at this time.- Caller: BT
- .This is definatly a BT customer service phone number that you are receiving the calls from therefore it is BT, stop being so paranoid.
- Caller: BT
- philipthey are from BT because they wanted to check my broadband speed
- Caller: BT
- BobUnsolicited call from a man in a call centre, asking me to confirm my name. I was told that my current calling plan could be replaced by a better one if I submitted my details over the 'phone, at which point I hung up. The caller had an unprofessional manner and sounded as if he was chewing gum.
I think a genuine call from BT would be quite different in approach.- Caller: BT ( alledgedly )
- K jonesI had a call showing on caller display, I called the number and they said it was BT and if they needed to ring me they would ring back. I have had BT recently ringing to try and sell me thier version of Sky TV. I called the call prevention registry and passed the number across for them the investigate.
- Caller: said it was BT
- RachelCan confirm in my case at least the call came from a BT engineer trying to confirm my new line had been connected.
- Caller: BT
- PaulIf it is BT they should be hauled over the coals for this- I've had 9 phone calls each hanging up as soon as it was answered since 8am <ish> (Now 3pm!) the BT customer services didn't know anything nor do they have any records of any calls. If it is a scammer BT Have the power to block this number from making calls or to block this number from calling us, yet of course- they choose not to as it will lose them custom. If we want this number blocked form calling us guess what- WE have to pay £12 per month for the chose to refuse program. Have BT heard of corporate responsibility? Quite possibly- but they are definitely on the "choose to refuse"- that is choose to refuse to acknowledge their responsibility!
- Caller: "BT"
- PaulActually- A scary turn up for the books! SOME might be BT (Though unconfirmed) AND some are going to be scammers- Some of the computer dialling systems can hack the security of switchboards so it seems to come from any number they choose (I had one moments ago from number "111") So I called in an independant phone co who told me about this! They do recommend a device on your phone where the caller has to press a key (like the BT's own monster "press hash now" system) This means you dont even get bothered by automatic diallers. The thing that annoys me is BT fail to do anything about it even though they can, they try to sell more "security" products. Its like owning a bullet proof glass company and giving away rifles so more people buy the glass!
- Caller: could be BT AND scammers
- JohnReceived a call from this number. Stated from BT and wished to put me on a call package to save me money. Wanted security details but I refused. Caller then wrongly gave my name but with my girlfriend's surname who is no way connected to my account and lives at separate address. They then corrected themselves giving correct subscriber details. When I queried this they immediately hung up. Are my calls being monitored in some way? Spooky!!
- Caller: BT?
- JimmyI get this number call me on numerous occasions. When I'm at home, I pick up the phone and no one answers so I put the phone down each time.
- GaryLuckily, my answerphone kicked in before I could get to the 'phone - it was the same number as above - and guess what? Nobody left a message - how strange and very annoying
It's apparently 'not' for you-hoo - bobDon't believe people on here who that it is BT, and don't give out your credit card details, that's what the liars posting here want you to do. Just ignore the call
- Caller: Fraud
- RainmooHad a call from this number again today, only this time it was an automated message telling me that the fault had been sorted out on our line. Strange thing is, we haven't had a fault on our line nor have we reported one! My husband just hung up and did 1471 and noted the number. It seems they use the same number for loads of different things.
- Caller: BT?
