are you on commission or something, it IS bt, they called me 3 times today, they said who they were, and could they speak to the person responsible for the phone line..
so stop trying to make it out its not BT..

Have been getting allot of calls from this number. They just keep hanging up.

Anyone know how to block these f***ers from calling (any of them)? I am with a telephone preference agency which is supposed to be part of BT, ha ha bull crap...as they keep ringing I am bloody fuming..and so I also suppose this telephone pref. also does sweet F.A!! Please I'm begging someone any "genuine" suggestions here?? As it seems that everyone is getting the same calls from this number but about random things!!
I am fuming...(hence the capitals!!) soz if it offends anyone..

This is worrisome.  If they need to speak to you they should phone normally, not sending dodgy computer-voiced messages!

Just had the call came through from someone claiming to be BT asking to speak to the person responsible for the line on a number which was not my number - something has gone wrong for someone somewhere

This IS a British Telecom number.  It was used, despite me stating email as the prefered contact method, and I did receive an email in response to a complaint that I had emailed (the night before - that  is prompt service).

Shilpa Kalburgi, Digital Care Advisor, left a brief voicemail.

I just had a call from that number, it left a 5 second message of part of the automated system you get when you ring them...
It was really strange.

Whoever it is, it's not genuine.

Just took a call on my mobile asking me for an appointment for an engineer to come to my property to fix a fault I had reported. Which of course I hadn't...as our lanline is in my wife's name.

So whoever it is, it's a confidence trick of the most despicable type.

It is BT.  I had a problem with my line and emailed BT to call me back on my mobile. They did so and also called me on my landline.

'Got a call from this number saying they were from Vodafone'

That is a lie, it is a BT number.

This is certainly a BT number.  I wrote with a complaint about a billing problem and a member of their staff responded with a call from this number

I have been dealing with BT over BB issues and the team in Ireland called me back and the number they called from was this number.

Certainly wasn't a scam for me.

Had a call from this number on my landline a few days ago - when my landline was out of order and I was unable to make or receive calls (any attempt to make or answer a call resulted in severe noise on the line, no dialling tone could be heard, I could not hear anyone and no one could hear me).  It was probably BT calling me about the problem that had been reported - very clever of them to do so on a number which was out of order at the time of their call...

definitely a BT number as i have just spoken to them.

recieved a phishing email last night - a pretty impressively accurate looking one, with a very high proportion of correct links.  the give away was the lack of name on the email, and the final link being so long you could only see the tail end of it in the browser bar......

anyway, forwarded this to the REAL BT people, and they both emailed me back and phoned.  sometimes BT do actually manage to something right...... but only sometimes.......

so a warning for all:

there is a very good phishing email circulating claiming a problem with your billing details.  ignore it!!

It is BT it is safe to pick up the phone when they call its not a scam!
