Don't be concerned, it is BT. I reported a broadband fault on Sunday, it was a call just to update me on the fault being fixed.

Had this number call about five minutes ago. In the past it's been one of BT's spamming partners. Although it's on my "Choose to refuse" list BT has seen fit to filter the number past it. This time it wasn't a spammer but BT replying to a complaint i made last week. In short it's a general use number shared by BT's spammers and also customer service

I ignored this no. three times in a row this morning.  Five minutes later I received an email from BT saying they'd tried to call me about a query I'd made the day before, so in my case, it was definitely BT.

I had stated in my query that I would prefer to be contacted by email, so they only have themselves to blame for being ignored.

I find it very strange that some people are getting nuisance calls from this no. as well.  There are enough people reporting it for it to seem more than paranoia ...

It was a BT salesman offering their services. This is their free callback number.

This is a number for authorised BT support staff. I emailed them with a Broadband account problem and they rang me back from this number. They are UK based staff (not like the muppets who operate their Indian call centres and who take most of the UK phone calls) and were extremely helpful in sorting the problem out. Unlike their Indian support staff.

You shouldn't be concerned at calls from this number, although unsolicited calls would be annoying!

They are rogue traders operating within BT and trying to pull scams.  Best option is to refuse to deal with anyone who tries to sell you something on the phone.  As an individual, you are of absolutely no consequence to BT, so please don't think for one moment that they care a jot about waking you up when you're between shifts or calling you when you're in meetings, because they simply do not.  You are insignificant to them.

Got a missed call from them when I got back off from holiday.
It is definitely a BT number from Customer Services wanting to offer their services ie a sales call and not a debt collector call so no point ringing them back as they only have an answerphone when you call back and you cant leave them a message either

Just to let the idiot know that it isn't BT its a SCAM as I pay my bills and I am a Talk Talk customer - the only fool out there is an egotist who doesn't offer constructive advice and thinks he knows everything - Jerk!

Why exactly are you on this site? The site is to report unwanted, unknown or scam calls.  If you had read this thread from the beginning you would see that BT use the same number for replying to queries or complaints and for selling their other services. The non payment calls are in the minority.   Of course, there are also the calls to people who are not with BT. BTW it is COUNTRY not CONTRY and it is YOU ARE or YOU'RE not YOUR.  Perhaps, instead of insulting people needlessly you could use your spell checker.

Oh and "you're" is a perfectly acceptable replacement for "you are". :)

Correct, but "your" is not an acceptable replacement when you mean "you are" or you're".
