Nuisance  calls from this number

Kept missing calls from them. Called them and they have no idea why they are calling me! My account is in good standing and has been for years. They might be trying to flog me a smart meter.

Ahh I did wonder. Probably why BG has no direct knowledge of it.

Definitely British Gas! After reading some of the comments here i panicked so I called BG customer service direct to check up on it and they confirmed it was a genuine, they even had the time of when the number called noted down in their system. For all of those people saying it's a scam you're not helping and you're worrying people unnecessarily.

08000725230 This number belongs to British Gas PESTS! I have already blocked the number as they keep calling me several times in a week!! When I did answer the first time, nobody spoke! And now that the number is blocked, they leave me annoying voice Messages every time, saying that British Gas have tried to contact me! Please, SOMEBODY, sort these guys out once and for all. I have nothing to do with British Gas.

Have had a few calls from this number but do not answer it.

08000725230,received this call, said from British gas, want to change my metres to smart ,ask me how many meters far from electric and gas metre, asked my postcode, which floor I live, a house or flat?  Then they answer sorry, we can't change ur metre to smart one, because u live in third floor in a flat**WTF!!! I feel they may be not real British gas,I hung up and call back, the voice from the number:thank u for calling British gas …blah blah,   then I seach in British website, British website shows can't regonize the number, which means the number is not real British gas.

Received a call today with a Hallo its British Gas. Would you like a smart meter with an upgrade. I replied that I already have one. Strange I thought. So I asked why would you not have this information. The reply was so sorry we will remove you from the Register. Even stranger still...Obviously without a shadow of a doubt. Dodgy. Beware.

why do they keep calling without leaving a voice message, that's rude and arrogant. some of us do work 8-6 very busy and do not want to be uneccessarily disturbed.

This number calls and says something then abruptly hangs up. Interfering. Stop it, please.

yes the person was telling me my metre was going to be changed to a smart meter mmm no it is not I said  I am not interested I told him if that being the case I would change my supplier started asking questions on how I paid I said direct debit but now I think about it a bit odd .Be careful  trying to pressure people may be to get information from me.

This is a genuine British Gas number. I came on here to check, after making an appointment for my new smart meter. Some posters were saying it was a nuisance number so I logged into my British Gas account and the details of my appointment were there, proving it was a genuine call.

Keep getting these calls 0800725230 on my mobile. I am deaf therefore I cannot answer any calls I only do texting instead but it is annoying cause it keeps calling me near enough every day!
