Constantly getting a call from this number but no one speaks when I answer.

It's legitimate British gas, they called me to confirm my recent meter readings that I'd submitted online, don't know how a bogus company would know those as he read them out didn't just ask me.
Did data protection advised calls are recorded etc, from working in a call centre myself it all sounded legit and didn't try and sell me anything either

You are absolutely right.
As a nation we move from one scam to the next.
Endowment mortgage claims, ppi, accident you were involved in etc.
the most frustrating thing is three is no way to block them all. Why should anyone legitimate ever need to hide/block their number?
I understand hospitals etc. may not want you calling back to a ward, but this has got out of hand.

SCAM SCAM DEFINATE SCAM!!
I have been receiving these calls every day for about a week and a half.
My answering machine picks up the end of a pre-recorded voice (saying nothing useful)
I am a British Gas customer, I phoned them direct (via the number on the back of my bill).
They have this number marked as Scam/ Criminal posing as British Gas.
Ignore/report 'em!

This number called, and said, "This is David calling from British Gas. Is that Mrs Priestly?" (not me!).
I said he might have a wrong number, and straight away he replied, "Sorry, I'll have the number taken off our database".

Something about the whole thing just didn't sit right, I wondered if it was some sort of spam set-up. Possibly just paranoia, but it just didn't seem very professional.

Cold calling me

Just had phone call from 08000725230 - about the 4th time this week.  Hadn't picked up because I didn't recognize the number.  However, today was different.  I picked up and was asked if my son was there.  I didn't answer and then he said are you ******* ( My name) and I stupidly said yes!  The man then said he was from British Gas and then hung up!

its not British gas as some other people said. just ask them to remove your name from the list .

British Gas so called info' call ,why oh why do they never leave a message ,is it so dificult ?

They call and i cant hear a thing. After reading this i hope someone has managed to mute them.

This is NOT British Gas this is a Scam do not give any information. Ask them to send anything in writing as they called you so they should know who you are. I get so annoyed when random people even some legit companies telephone ME and then ask me to confirm my name, dob, address etc. No thank you sir is what I say, you called me not the other way round!

I received a call from this number on 10/09/2015 and as I was bored at work I thought I would answer it.
It was apparently British Gas, who were calling to make an appointment as both my Electric and Gas meters need upgrading.

08000725230. Think it is British Gas. They did some work for me last week. Bloke told me to expect a courtesy call to ask about my experience/whether the problem was solved/was he polite. That sort of thing.

I've had to calls from this number and it is unknown so now I am reporting it as a scam

they keep ringing my mobile and I dont know who they are

Only one ring then it stopped

When I answered the phone they just hung up.
