Had a call from 08003580884 just now, they asked for my bank details, when I asked why whe person said thery were from google and I owed them money! Hung up. Looks like a long list of fraud activity from this number.

Called from 08003580884 at 8:45AM with recorded message claiming to be "Dun & Bradstreet" verifying their database. Another company that clearly has no ethical code so have been added to our blacklist of companies we will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH.

This is scarey stuff.....obviously this company has no fear of "being dealt with" and it may be because IT IS NOT BEING DEALT WITH.  Why is OFCOM or a Government body not dealing with this?  0800 telephone numbers should only be issued to bona fide companies who have been checked out by regulatory companies.  Come.....get your finger out and do something about these fraudsters!!!

Just received first automated call and message from these people.  Expect it won't be the last.  Oddly enough someone suggested the other day that I use Dunn & Bradstreet.  I won't be doing so now.  My home number is TPS registered, and that's where they called me.

I think its a covert police operation used for a variety of surveillence techniques as well as legitimate purposes. Upsetting people is also part of their spec I think.

Hi, I'm so fed up with these people ringing me! I get around 5 calls a day from this number, and every time I pick up the phone its as if there is nobody there...

To d and b yes you are an inconvenience espessally as you keep ringing off after 1 ring I have better things to do than rush to the phone to have it hang up
So do one and stop calling and hanging up

I too am getting frequent calls from this number and 'D and B' or who-ever they are claiming to be this week...
Thre MUST be something we can do, together...?  Strength in numbers and all that stuff...  Anyone have any 'weight' with authority out there...?

same story just got a call from the same number, after 4 rings they hung up!!!

Never any one there even after 1 ring! If I ever answer on time, I certainly won't be obliging with their request. So much for telephone preference service!

Got a automated call telling me they are D&B confimring validity of my email  - presumably so the can sell it on and I get laods more spam texts etc. Said to call 0800 358 0884 for more info but it's unobtainable. This may not be illegal but I do hate any business that operates like this. Will be reporting to Ofcom

Just got a call from this number on my mobile, but as I have caller ID and did not recognise the no. I didn't answer. And glad I didn't having searched on this forum. These type of organisations should be severely punished as my phones are registered with TPS.

Just had the same "B & D verifying database" call from these jokers, it came up as "international" on my home phone, might be a quirk of my phones but 1471 doesn't have the number either.

Yes I just got a call too - though it was a hang up - I never answer any 0800 or similar numbers now - I do worry though as I have a holiday let business and may be missing customers - but I get so many scam calls I could spend all my time answering them!

Just had a call from this number.  I answered, said hello twice.  No response.  I thought this wasn't meant to happen anymore.  I am on TPS.

Just had a call 'unavailable' from D&B, automated message verifying number, etc & giving 0800 number.
Am on TPS, very small home business.  Having read forum, this might explain the number of cut-off & end of recorded message calls recently.  Thank you to the forum to answer my questions.

Spam message as reported by others, despite the fact that I am on the Telephone Preference Service no unsolicited calls list - so what are TPS doing about it ?

have received several calls from these timewasters.  I am getting fed up with these calls when no one is on the other end!

Just received am automated call from 0800 358 0884.. Didnt even givem em time just put phone down, so tried to call back and guess what.. continous dead tone.. I have been registered with the TPS for a long time, so TPS not working now.. May have to report TPS to OFCOM..
