They hid their caller ID when they rang me and left a recorded message, saying same thing as everyone esle about verifiying my number etc... and to call: 08003580884

I too have just been called by a female automated call saying they were verifying numbers and giving this number to ring for further information. I think she said D & B. What a cheek!

I just got the same call, verifying numbers.....you do not need to take any action................D + B. Also on the TPS but it obviously isn't working!

DNB was called Dunn and Bradstreet a few years ago.

They handle business accounting info, such as how long companies take to pay creditors and I'm sure they have a lot more info.

They are legitimate so no one worry. I know this as in my teens I had a job interview with them when they were based at Ickenham near Uxbridge. They are now nect to the A40 at High Wycome, near ADA and John Lewis for the more observant A40 user, lol.

I am a sole trader working for home. I too got a call this morning, the voice on the automated system was female, same message. Also was from an international sourced number, i suspect Ireland.

They get arounf TPS by using an iternational number, so I'm going to report them to ICO (Information Commissioner Office) who have a bit more clout than TPS (they are useless).
I suggest we all do the same. Get a word doc and fillit out and email them, it is long winded but they do properly get back to you in a meaningful way and i guess if enough peeps did this BND would get fed up with being investigated!!!

You should all be aware that it is offence to contact anyone listed on TPS, either private or business. I always report people to both TPS and ICO and I can tell you the volume of calls has dropped to a 10th of what they were.

Similar to all above. Call 30 mins ago. Will ignore anything else from that number now. If they want to contact me, there's an email address. I know they monitor this from earlier posts so that's the reason I haven't picked up your calls!

Getting recorded message from them saying to call them for further info on 0800 358 0884 and that they are just contacting us to verify the number works.

Just had a call from this company.  Was a recorded message saying words to the efect ...This is a call from B&B, we are not trying to sell you anything and you do not need to take any action, we are simply updating our database and then left this number.
I think they are auto dialling and noting which numbers answer and so are genuine.  It would also work if an answer machine took the call.  
This is really sneaky way of adding people to databases without their knowledgr or consent

Hi got a call from this number anout 20 mins ago so following info on this site I rang them not on the number the message gave but on 01628 492000 as found on their website.
I explained that this was a residential number and could they give me the details of what information they hold against my number..... they gave me the name of a company that used to be run from my address several years ago before we moved in... it is the same name as lots of junk mail we get via post.
The guy on the phone seemed very helpful and promised to remove the number from the data base....he said it would take 3 working days...... "bloody slow computer I said."... he then said would I like a call back to confirm when it was removed......".How could you do that I said when you should no longer have a record of my number on you system" he asked me for a name I did not want to give him my name but he insisted so I made one up and he was happy.... will wait and see if this is removed

This number called us two consecertive days at 8.45am they hung up before we had time to answer.

I see other people have had calls from this company?  Would like to know who they are and what they plan to do with the info they are collecting?

Maybe if they just want to see if the phone number works it would explain why they hung up  as soon as I answered last week. Why anyone should rely on calling random numbers to get new business in the 21st century beats me.

I am now getting "Automated calls" from this number saying I don't have to perform any action that you are just verifying numbers! A) I don't like the fact that they just ring and tell me not to worry then hang up aand B) I am also on TPS and will be complaining.

Just had my 5th, yes 5th silent call from this number.

Pain in the backside!

I've just had a call from 0800 358 0884 to a business line that is diverted to my mobile.
Rang twice then stopped.
Registered with TPS as well.

Just got the automated call 5 minutes ago validating my number - for what I no doubt will begin to find out...

[16:22:37] 08003580884 called, no message.  Called it back to find a recorded announcement from Dun & Bradstreet

Got a call from these guys today, the phone rang twice and hung up.
