Just had two dropped calls from this number plus one connected call in 5 mins, like so many others they had clearly been on a trawl of companies house records.

I've had this call over 10 times..
it last about 20sec.. just enough time to wake me up or force me to get out of the bath ....

then the [***] says its not a tele marketing call after i hear him spout off about Dun & Bradstreet ... now correct me if Im arong but they should behave better then that... I am registered with the TPS/ fps and have been for years.. they must ban computer calls full stop ... and fine them heavy

even better if the force them to pay us £20 per call ?

Hi David,

We would like to inform you that we have an out bound team who calls companies to update their details. Hence they are a part of D&B.

However it is up to you whether you want to give the details or not.

Had a call this morning 8.45. Asking for Vat no and Banking details. They knew standard stuff but wanting to confirm. Was persistent in confirming Bank Details.
Why?

Claimed to be Dun & Bradstreet looking for business / credit information

Strong non english accent, possibly African, asking various business details, asked why he wanted to know my turnover and he actually said "it is my business to know" told him where to go at this point. I was most amazed at the fact his number was not withheld and hence entering google found this website.

Just received a call from this number again stating from d&b which i doubt very much due to our previous contact with them.

what was eqaully alarming is that they asked for bank details as with many others listed here! ------ tried too call back teh number only to receive a recorded tel msg stating d&b capabilities.

very suspicious --- if tehy are d&b, suggest that re-approach their training courses for their staff! IF NOT A CERTAIN OFFICIAL DEPT NEEDS TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK.

No idea who these people are, but I have seen this number many times in the past. Never answer it, as I can see I do not know who they are. We have a Family and Business Policy of never discussing anything Financial over the Phone. That means never answer Security Questions, so nuisance Calls can go no further than "hello" even when answered!

This number has just called my in-law's business.
They were very hard to understand, wanted the VAT number and bank details.
All details refused thankfully.
Also asked for other company information but all refused.

Got a call this evening from these people and they just hang up.

how can i stop this!!!

They called me and asked for company information and then bank details gave them branch then they asked for the sort code which seemed a bit odd, so I didn't give them that and they wrapped up the call, don't see what they can do without sort code and account number(s), but I am a bit worried I said too much.

Called my number today and asked for a company whose registered office is not at my address. I actually know the company they thought they had phoned and they asked for their phone number which I did not provide. The caller was I guess from India and she said she was calling from Dun and Bradstreet which I doubt very much. I am registered with TPS and does not stop this kind of call.

Female caller with a heavy Indian accent purporting to be from Dun & Bradstreet. As with the previous comments, the caller initially started with innocuous "confirmation" of details which she volunteered and just asked me to confirm their records were correct - trading address, phone/fax numbers etc and directors - all of which are a matter of public record. She asked for the company VAT number, which I did not give her, but she then continued asking for confirmation of the bank we use and then asked for the sort code at which I refused to answer and she instantly dropped the call.
I have emailed D&B about this as suggested earlier in the thread. I will post the reply if I get one. If this is a genuine call on their behalf they need to seriously rethink their calling policy. And I will be rewriting my company policy on dealing with all cold calls as a result of this (and, within minutes, another) suspicious call.

My father has recently suffered a stroke and due to his condition my elderly, confused mother has been trying to deal with phone calls. I have identified at least 5 calls from this number in the past week or so. I tried ringing them and was faced with the same message as previously noted. I need them to stop calling. Any suggestions?

Its Dunn  & Bradstreet, searching for company details & a lost debtor. I suggest you go on their website and get in touch with customer services(indian call centre) and demand the information they hold on your telephone number, turns out an ex employee used the company number when getting a loan and then has defaulted... use the Data protection act as a weapon and they will remove the number form their database, make them send you a letter confirming, they'll try and fob you off but stick to your guns. Have some sport with them

Had three calls from these people this morning calling on behalf of Dunn & Bradstreet - my number is also ex directory - just left the phone off the hook so the guy was speaking to himself - best these crooks waste their own time.

As a result of these calls I have now instructed all our staff to refuse to cooperate with ANY cold callers etc

Got a call at 8.50am today and got asked a load of questions about my online company. did not give any relevant information and put the phone down. he hasnt rung back but i tried calling them the phone had no dial tone and then just beeped now and again. very very suss. please leave feedback if you would be interested in starting up a group to halt this kind of behaviour thanks peeps.

The number normally calls and hangs up when you answer.
