Just received a call from these people to our office number.  It was a recorded message saying they are D&B verifying numbers and no need to take any action.  I'm now expecting a deluge of sales calls from Uncle Tom Cobley and All.  If they really are D&B then they are "The worlds leading source of business information" ... enuff said.

I keep getting calls from this number.........its getting annoying..........as soon as I answer the line goes dead.

Who are they?!

We have just been affected by this. First we received an automated call verifying our telephone number, then a call that went dead upon answering, then a call asking for our business information. All within the space of about 40 minutes. Trading Standards have advised us that they are either illegitimately gathering information or conducting a scam. Be Wary!

Recorded message left on my office phone - sounded as if it was only the end of the message as it started in the middle of a sentence  '.... for more information call 08003580884'  - but I am not going to call them.  I wonder how many people would?

I got a call claiming to be from D&B and saying I need take no action because they were just verifying their database. Dont know how they got nimber. Dont know about any database. Clearly still at it.

Just had that call, same as above.

D&B are a larger research company I'd guess researching for other marketers.

I got the recorded message. Claiming to be from D&B and wanting to "verify your number/details on their database" and "and no need to take any action" blah blah. I didn't wait for further b/s and hung up.

It beggars belief that here we are 3 years on from the first reported complaint and yet they STILL harassing people today. Why are Trading Standards and OFCOM so toothless at shutting these people down?

Another one today. Silent call this time. Doing a 1471 revealed the number.

I hate being called by machines. D&B has now been marked as "nuisance" on my caller ID.

Just got a call from 08003580884 so annoyingly they still haven't been shutdown even though it's 2011. Unfortunately I missed them this time.

Just got a call from 08003580884 with the same automated message as others about verifying their database. My number is registered with TPS.

Got a mised call from this number this afternoon. 17/1/11. Did not answer cos it was in my bag!!

Got a silent call from them this afternoon
