Just got this number calling - 08003580884, and found this website through Google.

They hung up as soon as I answered with the business name, I guess that was an automated dialler...?

Same call as everyone else - claimed to be from "DNB", although very hard to make out through the thick accent. I confirmed the company name but, as soon as she started asking for more with no reasonable justification, said I wasn't interested and ended the call. Like others I am registered with TPS so it's annoying to get unsolicited calls especially if - as earlier correspondent's email from Dunn & Bradstreet seemed to confirm - this originates with a legitimate UK company. They should know better.

got a call from this number - Indian man with VERY think accent "is i got through to jia-deee guesthouse?" - I simply gave my standard reply ("yes, but I don't talk to foreign call centres") and hung up.

the TPS has no teeth, as it cannot govern call centres from outside the UK (even if they are working for, or run by UK companies).

Called at 5.00pm today.
I refused to speak to the caller until he identified himself.
He said he was calling from Dun & Bradstreet Limited.
I Don't believe him, so hung up.

OK everyone, I have got to the bottom of this one.
The caller from 0800 3580884 was calling from a call centre in India.
He was indeed representing D&B - Dun & Bradstreet (see below from their website)

I called D&B UK's customer service line - on 0870 2432344.
It was a call centre in India.
She apologized & I asked her to pass on to her supervisor the fact that I was not happy with receiving unwanted telephone calls. If they wanted information they should put it in writing and I may respond.

So, if you don't want their calls just call 0870 2432344.

DUN & BRADSTREET (D&B) you are upsetting potential customers!!!

Very bad quality line, I think she said she was calling from D&B, a business information company. She seemed to think that my domain name was a business.

I have just been phoned by someone claiming to be Dun & Bradstreet from 08003580884.  He was speaking so quickly and in such a loud vfoice my suspicions were immediately aroused.  I cannot believe D&B would phone me in such a way.  Am I right to think someone was after my identity?

I have just received a phone call from 08003580884 from a lady I could barely understand who said she was from D&B wanting business information. It was not convenient to take the call so she said she would phone back tomorrow. I am so pleased that I then searched Google and found this page.I will certainly not be giving out any information if she phones back.

Stream of questions on what the business was doing, did it trade under any other name. Very bad line  jumble of numbers for CLI

getting lots of calls from this number, but they cut off as soon as I pick up the phone, so have never managed to speak to anyone.

correction - I have at last had a conversation.
Did not ask any inapropriate questions, started with "calling from", but when pressed admited "on behalf of" D+B.
His company - IBM - and their "UK customer services" number - 0870 243 2344, however a previous post suggests this is in fact another asian call centre.

Just called me from 08003580884 and silence then hung up. My number is registered with TPS.

Same problem as everyone else.  If you don't like it, why not call D&B and tell them?  The number given above by DJCOTTS (0870 2432344) is a premium-rate number but you can call them direct on 01628 492000.

Feel free to waste their time!

Who are these people and what do they want?

This lot called me on my mobile within the past half hour. Not that I bothered to answer it but I could do without this.  I'm also TPS registered.

(Shame I didn't answer, that way I couldn't rack up their phone bill.)

Don't D&B have a debt collection agency operation?

Same call as everyone else. Very thick difficult to understand Indian accent who wanted to know far too many details.
Told him we couldn't give out this information without knowing the reason why.
He couldn't give an answer or he simply didn't understand my English?

Was quite surprised to find the number wasn't withheld, hence the reason for finding this site.

Amazed that D&B are quite happy for their company to be represented in this manner! I will certainly be steering clear of any of their products or services!

Was in a meeting when my mobile phone rang. Didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number. Glad I didn't.

This is the 3rd day in a row I have been called by them - either a silent call or the call drops before I get to it.

Last week they phoned wanting to put my buiness into a dirctory.
Why would I? I can do that for free on my website.
Refused to give any info to the Indian caller.
Today, another two silent calls.
Will not leave message on answerphone.
They are wasting all our time.
D&B Note...I will never never never buy anything from you.

Yet ANOTHER silent call from this number..

How can I stop it - calling them back gives some silly automated voice.
