- Dave from DentonSilence on the other end, like talking to my girlfriend about work.
- Mark| 1 replyCall to my mobile. Didn't answer, thanks for the info.
- Nigel SHad what I think is the third call from this company. Called out of hours when my business phone is diverted to my mobile, so I am charged for the call even though their number displays as an 0800 number. Introduced themselves as part of Dun & Bradstreet but gave no personal name. They gave the name of my one-person consultancy and asked me to confirm it. Strange, as this is not in any directory, the phone number being in my personal name. Asked me to confirm my website url which has all the information they asked for up to the point when I put the phone down. Then asked me to confirm the phone number which they must have just dialled. All this was conducted at an irritatingly slow pace with a delay suggesting that they were ringing from across the world. When they asked me for my "full name" which was what I gave when I answered the call, I put the phone down. Even if they're genuine, their telephone manner is infuriatingly slow, they don't do their advance homework, don't listen, and behave like they're a scam.
- Caller: Dubn & Bradstreet?
- JanMy eighty four year old mother has just received a call from this number. A lady with a strong accent pressing her for details about my late father's business. My mother is now very worried as the caller already knew some personal information. I too will complain to TPS.

We would like to apologise if our telephone call has inconvenienced you in any way. - BarryWanting Company information for their database. Trying to get business intelligence they can;t get from companies house. Told them to go forth.... which is what anyone else should also do. They rely on getting someone on the end of the phone who will answer as many questions as possible.
They then sell the information on to all sorts of marketing companies etc..

- SusanI too got a call from these people. I stupidly thought they were to be trusted. I only said yes to confirm the data that they had about out firm, and didn't give them anything that they didn't already have. They asked if I had out VAT reg number but I didn't give it to the very hard to understand Indian sounding woman. I've been worrying about this phone call all weekend thinking that they were trying to sell something and agreed to it by confirming their information on us. Normally I would put the phone down on this sort of cold caller, but she caught me off my guard this time. Can I confirm that they were just confirming what they had on their database and we won't get a bill in the post?
- clmCold called my business line this morning despite being registered with TPS, didn't answer as was on the other line at the time. Left no message. Glad I didn't have to waste my time with them.
- nbAnswered phone, couldn't understand her, told her to [***] off. She [***] off.
- MeGot a call from these today asked the usual questions which I answered as none of them are secret and available from Companies house.
First time I've heard from them though. I gues if you answer them they go away. If you don't they'll keep calling till someone does!- Caller: D&B
- UNKNOWNTHEY JUST CALLED, I SAID NOTHING WHEN THEY ASKED ABOUT THE COMPANY. JUST PICK UP AND SAY NOTHING THEY SOON GO
- KarenHad a call just now. Stupidly gave them some information.
Claimed to be Dun & Bradstreet.- Caller: Dun & Bradstreet
- Maggie PYep, Dun & Bradstreet.....what a nuisance their call cente in India is...despite several requests not to call again, they still DO. At first it sounds like 'B & B' calling, but it's 'D & B' -I found out exactly who they were... VERY INTRUSIVE and it should be legally actionable against - but they are not affected by the Telephone Preference Service, as they're calling from abroad.
The old email contact number for them is no longer valid, now you have to create an Account to send them an email by the looks of it. (No thanks!) I phoned Customer Services to complain and was re-routed to India again!!!! NO!!
Looks like they can bother us but it's very hard to get in touch with them, plus it will cost OUR money to make the long distance call. GRRRRRRR !!!!!!- Caller: Dun & Bradtsreet

I asked her about ten quick questions in my thick scottish accent and then told her to feck off. She had a hel of a job trying to answer me, apologised and then hung up.
Dun & Bradstreet are of no use when you complain.
Contact your local MP and he will raise this issue in the house of commons..that's what they're there for. - JulieI was ready when she called this afternoon. We are now running a sweepstake in the office based on who can get her to hang up first. Look upon it as your 2minute laugh break for the day.Awful accents and really dumb answers work best.
- Caller: Dun & Bradstreet
- PeterReceived a call today. Load of BS about "we provide business to business data".
UK sourced call, judging by lack of delay, but very strong sub-continental accent, not overlaid (as I would usually expect) by any hint of "Northern".
She was clearly not working from information published by us. This is a partnership and by law all our names are on every piece of paper that goes out. So how come this question "What is your name sir?"
This sounds to me like a "phone-phish". Why would they need bank account details?- Caller: B & B
- Ian GroverAm a small business in the highlands - I am used to these 'sales/telemarketing' kind of calls and have my 'own personal manner' when dealing with them... I enjoy them so much as you can rid any frustration you may have, with them... I think they are put on this planet to 'council' us self-employed folk free of charge... make a positive out of a negative!!!
