Keep getting loads of call from this number. Anyone have any idea who it is??

Said they were from the Abbey National

abbey called oday but unfortunatley couldnt get hold of you
just rang it back and got this automated response.

Genuine call from Abbey ISA people, I got a similar one today and checked it was genuine with the branch.  All ok and above board.

had the same call on the pretence they had sent a letter out two weeks ago about overdraft facilities got suspisious when they wanted date of birth be warned just the start checked the number with abbey and surprise surprise nothing at all to do with abbey simply a scam to get your bank details

update 2 days after this number receiving calls from 01582630015 similar scam pretence of a survey from abbey to find bank details been to the abbey info as now been passed on to there fraud department

Had a call back from Abbey as a part of a security check so this one is legit, business account in my case but this may not be relevant

Tried to call back but it said "Abbey called today, but unfortunately we weren't able to get in touch with you". Very random, for one - it wasn't a voicemail message so how did they know they called me, secondly - I have never had an account with abbey. Scam me thinks.

Call is from Abbey. It's the default number sent from all their call centres but not the branch network. This includes return calls form the customer service centre for additional security measures and all outbound sales calls from the central sales teams. If you call  the number, it connects you to a pre recorded message advising that you were called. I know because I work there.

got a missed call from this number. if it is abbey then i have no idea why as i dont have an account with them

Was a call from Santander to check that I was happy with the level of service recieved in my local branch when signing up for a reward account. They wanted to know if I was given all the relevant information but wanted me to disclose my year of birth and postcode to do so. I told them I don't give out my personal details over the phone which they said was fine and politely said goodbye. No problems with the call at all.

This is a ligit number! To get back in touch call the main Santander number which you can fond on their website! Remember Santander isn't just abbey now it's A&L - GE cards etc call them bak they will be able to help you!

Recieved unsolicited calls which cut off when I answer. Why is this allowed to go on and on and on?

They hung up before i got a chance to say hello.

Stupid annoying Abbey.

Got a call from this number this morning. It was a woman who spoke about as much English as my girlfriend's dog.  her opening gambit was that she was trying to get onto "Harriet" and then used a sentence structure i know Abbey don't train their operators to use.

Calling back might lead you to Abbey/Santander/Whatever they're called till the next merger but caller ID can be manipulated with the assistance of the right equipment and a dial-out provider in the UK willing to do this.

A really pushy phone call purporting to be from Santander and requesting personal information - wouldn't take 'NO' for an answer - BEWARE !!!!!
