Keep getting calls from 0800 3890755. Claim to be calling from SANDANDER. First ask to confirm DOB.

Just had 2 missed calls from 0800 389 0755. rang the number and got the following recorded message
"Santander called today, but unfortunately we weren't able to get in touch with you"

I received a call from this number last night saying they were from Santander Home Insurance and wanted to update my details. I have no insurance with Santander! The number is not recognised by the Santander group at all. When my husband answered the phone they asked for him by name and also gave the name of somebody known to this family. No idea how they came up with that one as it's an unusual name, but it makes the call sound very plausible. Be careful!

caller announced himself as being "from the bank!", but said he couldn't tell me any more until I had passed his security question! every other caller to my business gives his name & the name of the company he represents! I'm not having this nonsense from any bank!

I understand that this call is from Santander but
1. you should not have to call back to find out who is calling
2. out of courtesy, they should leave a message
3 more importnatly, if you do NOT have an account, it is ILLEGAL to cold call

all in all, they are a b..... nuisance so please, those who read these messages and who work for them, a bit of feedback Santander are a b        nuisance

on 16/12/11 I had a call from this number that went dead when I answered it

I just had a call from this number. I said "hello" and the phone went dead. Irritating  !!

I get calls to my house phone from 0121 260 2901 and when I don't answer it my mobile rings in seconds from this number 0845 3512 264 and 3 minutes later I had a call from this number 0800 389 0755.
I answered both the 0121 & 0845 calls and the same thing "This is an important message for Mr.******* , please confirm some security questions" - I hung up straight away.
I answered the 0800 number and a male answered saying that he was from Santander and wanted to go through security questions with myself. I said no, I don't just answer details over the phone cause someone says there from the bank. I asked for his name and department so that I can check and call him back, he WOULD NOT give me them!  He wouldn't give me any details until I answered security questions!  HA!  No chance...the cheeky sod.

Cleer demanded bank details which I refused. They would not tell me the nature of the call.  I rang Santander and they said it was a fraudulent call

Very polite woman from Santander called me about my house insurance policy. Said she needed to check some details about my house (like how many rooms, whether I have window locks, etc.), but that first I must prove my identity to her by giving my date of birth, postcode, etc. I said that if she wanted details of that kind, she would first have to prove to me HER identity, not the other way round. She said she had no way of doing that and was sorry to have troubled me.
Now, was that genuine or a scam? I tried calling Santander, but they had a queue of calls and I didn't pursue it.

Called my mobile this afternoon and within 2seconds they hung up. Just as I was about to take the call. It might be good for the caller to be able to say they "called 150-odd customers but there was no answer" but this is a bad product by their caller. And it reflects badly on Santander too. The call-in centre need to get hold of this before it winds up too many of their customers (would me up a bit: wasted time, basically).

this may or may not be legit, most likely a scam, i have never banked with any Santander branch and never will, and how did they even get my number, and i have a good friend who works at Barcleys and when they ring they at least mention which account it is regarding BEFORE they jump into the security questions, 99.9% sure it's a scam, and even if it is legit how come so many others are getting calls from a bank they have never used, got to be a scam

I keep getting calls from this number every couple of hours

Yup, it is from Santander asking me if I wanted to follow up on my application for a savings account, I told them I was not interested and they removed my number.

This is also Santander. It's not fake or a scam it is legit. Ignore all scam comments above

I had a call from this number today, claiming to be Santander and that they had urgent business to discuss, I've been called for the last week from other numbers including 08451 262663, claiming to be Santander both on my home and mobile number with the same message. They want to go through some personnel security questions which of course I refuse then offer a number for me to call again to which I refuse as I have no business with Santander, they even say I should go into a branch! Each time I've asked them to write to me but I've recieved nothing. Today I got angry, told them it must be a fraud, they even asked if had had got a letter yet but still tried it on, they said to expect to keep receiving calls until the matter is resolved so I told them If I had anymore calls from them I would report it, the phone was sharply put down.

These people are a nuisance, they call at any time of day even at 4pm on a Sunday, it's a b****y intrusion, who do they think they are? Number blocked on my phone!
