- cat| 2 replies9.30 sunday morning. Santander do business on a sunday ?
- Cee Cee replies to cat| 1 replySantander call centres are open all week and most holidays, ironically even bank holidays. 7-11 all through the weekend. It's a legit number and is the generic number for all outgoing calls from Santander/ A+L call centres. Calls from this number are usually due to replies to questions/concerns customers have, questions regarding customers accounts (i.e. unusual activity, suspected fraud, problems), quality calls to check on level of services provided. Santander also monitor a high number of cards (store cards e.g. Debenhams) and other accounts, so even if you think you don't 'bank' with Santander you probably have a product linked to them. People may be annoyed with the timing/frequency of calls, but then again fraud happens 24/7 and I know that regardless of what day of the week it was I'd want to know that my money is safe.

- dr| 1 replyI have been receiving multiple calls a day from this number, and not recognising it I checked this site. Eventually last NIGHT I answered and got a very pushy woman claiming to be from Santander and demanding I go through security clearance.
I politely advised her I did not believe her, had searched this site and had grave concerns about the legitimacy of the call. I asked her to provide verification by means of company registration numbers etc. She was non compliant and rude. I asked her what she was calling in regards and she would not tell me, citing I had not gone through security clearance.
I explained that I understood Santander had a policy never to email/call and demand personal information and that I was following standard security advice for the prevention of fraud. She became increasingly angry and threatened they would write to me! I welcomed this which infuriated her further.
I suggested to her that if she were Santander she would accept this, accept my request never to telephone me again, remove my number, and write to me as requested. She hung up on me.
This morning another pushy woman called from the same number, oblivious to the above "agreement." I was less polite and hung up myself.- Caller: "Santander"

- annoyedgot a call from a very rude woman this afternoon. Asked if I could confirm my name. I asked who was this to which she replied this is a personal call. I said you are calling from an 0800 number so that cant be true to which she said she'd try again later.
Being harrassed by this and 01212602902 and 02030366602. Both seem to be Santander too and both asking for personal details.
Scam I think.- Caller: Santander
- AL LondonI owe Santander money and they keep calling me from this number. So I guess it is used by their debt collection as well as other departments. My advice is ignore all 0800 numbers.
- Caller: Santander
- Call type: Debt collector
- Mr FishThis is Santander. It's used in my circumstances for debt collection. I received a call recently a few minutes to 9pm which is very close to the cutoff time. They will say it to catch people in, I say it's to cause harassment. For a company that prides itself on it's image I have found them to be bullying and harassing with no regard for the Consumer Credit act or even basic human rights.
Prior to this they used to use 0845 number a whole host of them, these were silent so on an auto dialler these calls were sometimes answered by a human but usually they hung up with not a peep. This is against Ofcom guide lines and they can and should be fined.

I had complained about a very rude person who I had spoken to while using the internet banking,
the lady merely asked for my name (so as to make sure she was telling me and not someone esle), and knew about my complaint, she was very polite and offered me £25 as a way of apology for how I had been talked to by the helpdesk operative.- Caller: Satandar Group
