Received a phonecall from this number and a man said he was 'Ian from Santander' he wanted my full name and postcode, then he asked for my date of birth.  I refused to give him this for obvious reasons, he became very abrupt and hung up on me.  I rang Santander and they had no record of calling me and said they would not ask a customer for personal details in this manner.  Beware! do not give out any details if contacted by anyone using this number

Phoned me about a complaint I had made and left a voicemail asking to ring back a number and include ref number. Fair enough except I don't have any dealings with Santander and have never made a complaint! Treat with caution.

Had missed this caller many times. When I did answer no one was there. Called them back recording said it was Santander and would call again. I called Santander and after many security checks they confirmed it wasn't them. Do not take calls from this number....

They said they were from Santander and asked me if I would go through some security checks to confirm who I was.
They phoned me on my home number and knew my name what more proof did they need.
Bank Account or Debit Card details no doubt
When asked to verify who they were got shirty and rung off.
Im convinced it was a scam call.

I missed a call from this number today, when I called back I simply received a recorded message saying "Santander called today, unfortunately we weren't able to get in touch with you" and then it disconnected. I have no Santander account of any sort and they called my work number, so it looks like a cold call from Santander or someone pretending to be them.

got a call from 0800 3889 0755 said they were from santander about me owing them £470 om my mortgage, i paid  my mortgage off 5 years ago with the woolwich, went into my local santander branch and they did a a search and this number has nothing to do with santander,since then i have reported it to the police fraud dept. and are looking into this also reported this number to offcom, who put me in touch with another dept. and they have put a block on it,so do not give them any info. about yourself just tell them tey are being investigated by the fraud squad1

Conspiracy theorists won't believe me of course but I checked this out by calling a known genuine Santander number (taken from a letter received from their Complaints Dept) and asking them. Having been put on hold for a minute, the chap came back to confirm that it is a genuine Santander number.

I've had a couple of calls recently from this number.
They ring off as soon as my answering machine kicks in without leaving a message.

I had emailed them this morning and was expecting a reply / call regarding it,  and they quoted this email including what it was in reference to in the voice mail message so probably genuine.

This number called me saying they were Santander, and asked for my date of birth. I said I would contact Santander independently, and she gave me the number 08456090010 to ring, which I ignored.

Had 8 calls on my mobile yesterday from this number. Didn't answer, you'd think they should take the hint!

Got a call today Sunday saying they are Santander. Gave them security details then they say they sorry your account details dont show up.
I fon Santander and they say its our collections department. Really on Sunday?

Genuine call from Santander. Calling to confirm a meeting I had set up with them.

Have been called by this number FORTY SIX times in the last 3 days.  Claims to be Santander, when i called the number I have for them on paperwork and asked why they were harassing me, they had no record of any calls being made to me and did not know why they would be calling me.

Now, I know Santander's reputation (even with people who work for them!) is utter crap but this is either a scam  or yes, they really are that rubbish

someone called me from the above number, pretending to be Santander Home Insurance.
In Santander documents the number cannot be traced.
It might therefore have been a scam !!!

Keep receiving calls from this number. Answered it a couple of times but none speaks and it cuts off.

This number keeps calling my number. They say they are from Santander. Call a few minutes ago: "Hello. Mr Cottee?"
"Yes, who's calling?" (I know because I have their name logged in my telephone now, they call so often!)
"I'm from Santander"
"Okay, may I ask why you are calling?"
"I will have to ask you some questions to go through security?"
(I do not have an account with them, maybe one of the other Mr Cottee's in our house has or had?)
"How do I know that you are from Santander, and that I may want to speak with you, if you cannot tell me why you are calling?"
"well, you won't answer our security questions."
"If you can't tell me why you are calling and I haven;t asked you to call then please do not call again, otherwise I may not be so polite!"
Why are Santander calling me? Are they really from Santander? What "security question" do they want answering?
If it is Santander then I suggest they look at who they are calling, we are listed with the TPS (for what it's worth).
They keep calling at all times early morning, during the day, evening.
If they call again, I am going to bill them for my time!!!
