8 calls on my mobile  today -cant blocked them on my old phone dam it
I just add to contacts and named it spam for now
very annoying wish I could get back at them somehow

AFAIK this number may also be used for other banking matters. They have a confidential online messaging system, but seem to like intruding by phoning. I refuse to discuss banking on the phone as one can be mis-heard and one has no record.

This is a legitimate santander number as I started a new mortgage application yesterday and they phoned me back today using this number . Banks still have to confirm security details under the data protection act to ensure they have phoned the right person. They will never ask card pins or anything like that usually dob and how much your last payment was .

Missed this call on my mobile, but they rang again from a different number. Genuinely Santander,leaving a message quoting an 0845 number to ring. They wanted to confirm (or otherwise) a suspected dubious transaction. Info required much as quoted by Ag above.

Hi i had a call from this number today its Santander/ Abbey national mortgage complaints team not a scam. if you ring 0330 123 0189 they will kindly ring you back on this number.

Received 2 calls from this number within a couple of minutes.  When I answered no one was there

Hi this number called me and prompted me through security questions, they got as far as my name the I ended the call. I called Santander who confirmed this was a genuine call.

Rang me but didn't answer, left a message saying it was Santander and to ring them back.

Says wants me to ring to resolve an issue says name is Stephen from Santander left a voice mail.sounds weird to me I'm not going to call back.

Just spoke with Santander, told them this number was calling me. Put me through to their security section, told me they had not been calling me. Asked for the number, checked their directory of numbers and guess what, it was'nt on it. Phishing/Scamming maybe both.

Guy saying he was from Santander. As far as i'm aware Santander don't have my mobile number!!! he wanted me to confirm security details, then he could tell me about rate changes.  This call did not sound genuine so told him i'd call into branch. He did an awful lot of stuttering through out the call as if he was being cautious on what he was saying.

It is a scam pretending to be from santander. There was fraud on my credit card today which santander flagged up. This number rang claiming to be from Santander looking details which I did not provide them with.Subsequently they attempted to ring santander and pretend to  be me to unblock the card but thankfully failed security questions.  I never respond to an 0800 number, always check it out first.

This guy called my partner and couldn't say what he wanted, just wanted personal details. He put phone down..

Must be a scam said from stander and wanted security  when declined became irritable

Haha you people are very paranoid this is Santander's Fraud prevention Line - If they call you its to query or block a transaction - You really want to listen to what they have to say - the verification is all low key information and they will answer questions they ask to prove who they are

If you really really think hard about this again you could probably work it out ;)

Phone call saying they were from Santander  and asking me to confirm my date of birth. When I refused as I don't have an account with them they said they would put it in writing.
